Works very well. Easy to use.
These shears work very well for trimming weeds and plants. Very easy to use.

Needs better finishing at the factory
More attention needs to be paid on blade alignment before these shears leave the factory. The two blades were digging into each other rather than sliding against each other. Needed to realign and smooth out the blades before they destroyed one another.

Doodle proof!
The only effective way of trimming my golden doodle. Manually operated but long blade makes quick work.

So nice I bought two!
I selected these sheep sheers to cut and trim grass as a "cleaner" and more reliable alternative to an electric "weed eater." I lost the first pair within 2 weeks (possibly stolen while I was out of town, or possibly in a place so secure I can't remember). So I bought a second pair, and it's just as good as the first.I like this design because it's simple, so it ought to be quite reliable (as opposed to various grass clippers with springs and extra hinges, etc). The only possible concern, for the ultra-picky, is that the first pair I ordered had a black handle, and the second a red handle. The color of the handle doesn't mater to me, but if you specifically want a red handle as pictured, you may be disappointed.

14yo son sheared his first sheep with these!
All I can say is that if a completely inexperienced 14yo can shear a sheep on a 95-degree day after watching a couple of youtube videos, then they must be good shears. Sadly, the antique ones we originally got just did not function. These, though, were awesome!!

Don't do it.
It lasted half of a ewe. I'm not kidding. Most idiotic looking animal in the pasture. Took me over an hour of stressing her out, and in the end she looks like a show poodle. I think I'd have made more progress just shearing her with my teeth. That is my ONLY wool ewe. My others are hair sheep. When it wouldn't finish the wool ewe, I decided I would at least use it to help my Dorper ram out a little, as he had a patch or two hanging on and looking less than stellar. Nope. It would have been faster with fingernail clippers. Please do not make your neighbors cry tears of laughter, as mine do each day when they drive by my poor poodle-ewe. Spend double if that's what it takes. You'll kill your ewe restraining her for long enough to shear her with these. Pinching two rocks together would have been just as efficient. I read the reviews beforehand and decided to be cheap. The ewe and I both nearly died of exhaustion and heat in consequence. I'd post a picture of the ewe's haircut but that is not what I'd like to become an internet sensation for, thank you very much. Pass on these. Zenport, for the love of everything, please step up.

I Don't Have Sheep to Shear But,
I have been looking locally for these shears but could not locate them. I have never owned a sheep, but as a kid, this type of shear was excellent for trimming flower beds and small ornamentals. This product is very good and serves me well in the garden.
