Q: Where to buy bulb replacements?

You can search Amazon for "chiphy color changing light bulb with remote". Those are what originally came with my lamp.

Q: where is the sensor for the remote located? I plan on putting this lamp on a raised platform behind my 55' TV, will it be out of line of fire?

From the description: Remote control: 2.4GHz wireless remote controller with long range and easy to operate. So, you don't need line of sight to the lamp.

Q: Will this work for everyone ?

We love ours. Purchased it for the living room but decided to place it in the bedroom. Emits a soft light, very pleasant.

You will have to buy a remote for this lamp. All that is included is a foot-controlled "on-off" switch. Leave the foot switch in the "on" position and plug it in to whatever remote you purchase. I leave my two on, and turn them on and off with wall-switch controlled outlets.
