Optrel 5012.238 Nova Auto Darkening Lens Filter

I got an arcone horizontal singles hd, arcone tradesman hd, ameriarc, arcone singles retrofit hd and this lense. I tried them all at the same time in the dark because I wanted to see which one worked the best for me (I work in areas that are potentially not well lit). I ended up deciding that the arcone horizontal singles/tradesman and ameriarc lenses didn't have the peripheral view I wanted when welding and weren't as clear as I wanted while welding. I ended up with the arcone singles retrofit lense and this lense. The retrofit lense is clearer when not welding and a bit lighter but I'm not a big fan of everything being orange. With the optrel nova lense its a tad darker in the light state but as long as you have a light there aren't issues with seeing your starting point. I really like the fact that everything is green and it seemed like everything popped out more when welding vs the other lenses. No idea how well it does with tig since I stick welded with all these lenses and so far I like this lense the most.

If your like me and have been searching for a 2x4-1/2 auto lense that does not have a orange or red puddle while being used, this lense is for you. The puddle is a crisp green blue color like a gold lense or maybe a little less clear than a Jackson true sight (which is a awesome one as well just gets ate up when welding pipe in tight spots all day). It fits easily in my sellstrom flip front I have on a pipeliner and in my normal one as well. It is a light shade 10, but comes with a green lense to put behind the auto to beef it up to a 10.5 maybe 11 depending on your eyes. The sensors work very well out in the sun and dark spots also, no flashing. Can easily see critical applications on tig like burning a open root on 91 chrome or stainless and works very well with stick as well. Sorry don't do much mig but the little I've done looks crisp and had no sore eyes after. Defiantly worth a shot even with the price.

I’m actually a fixed shade welder for tig but this lens is the only auto lens I’ll stick weld in time and time again it’s so easy to see the puddle the puddle color doesn’t matter it’s smooth and it gets the job done makes u able to see things u couldn’t see before in my eyes. Worth re-purchasing time and time again

Shade 10 is like an eleven way to dark for me. Other than that it was a good lens ,color is awesome

The view of the lens is very clear the only thing I didn’t realize is that it has a deep green tint too it. It’s all the way great if you like that type of tint I’m more of a blue tint type welder it make it more clear to me but overall I can’t complain about the product.

Best auto shade made. My last one lasted me 7 years. It's worth paying a bit extra for this one.

Not reliable for tig welding.
