5 stars and a belt loop grip on my soul
Five stars and zero chill. I devoured this book. It’s got that spicy, small-town, western charm I didn’t know I needed, and now I’m absolutely desperate to get back to the series. This one’s for the girlies who love:• Brothers’ best friend tension 👀• Secret relationship vibes 🤫• Fiery chemistry that snaps (hello, belt loop scene 😮💨)The romance is HOT. The story flies by, and while it’s not super deep, it doesn’t need to be. It’s just fun.I also loved the “coming home” theme. It’s not always about finding love in some far off place; sometimes it’s been right there, waiting for you in dusty boots and a cocky smile. Also? Teddy. I need her book like yesterday.

Great start to the series
Rebel Blue Ranch series follows the Ryder family who own the ranch in a beautiful Wyoming. Book one is all about Clementine "Emmy" and Luke. The two knew (and agonized) each other since childhood. But now that Emmy is back in town, and probably to stay, Luke with his bad boy's reputation only has eyes for Emmy. It's been so long since I read a Western romance, and I am so glad I picked up this series. Book one transported me right into the vast fields of gorgeous Wyoming surrounded by picturesque mountains - my favorite scenery. The author did a fabulous job setting the scene for the series and introducing the readers to the youngest Ryder. In book one, the sparks may not be flying right off the bat, but there is definitely undeniable attraction between Emmy and Luke who always had that love/hate dynamics. There is also some forbidden romance going on since Luke's best friend is Emmy's older brother.Going into this book blind, I was a little surprised this read was quite 🌶️ 😂, but I enjoyed it nevertheless! The book had ADHD representation and I thought it was addressed really well. I also enjoyed the theme of getting over your fears and anxiety, starting over and adopted family theme. While still immersed in book one, I purchased the next two books. I was invested!! I just loved the cozy feeling this romance read gave me.

as expected
It was exactly what I expected it would be. Not the best writing I’ve ever read but it was a cute cowboy romance. Less smutty than I thought it would be lol I will definitely read the one about Gus

You should definitely read/listen to this book!
I loved 'Done and Dusted' by Lyla Sage! A close friend recommended it to me because she knows how much I enjoy Elsie Silver's writing, and I was not disappointed. If you appreciate Silver's style, you'll find a lot to love in Sage's work.As someone with ADHD, I was particularly moved by how authentically the main character’s experiences were portrayed. The representation resonated deeply with me, and it was refreshing to see someone navigate those challenges in a relatable way. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster—I found myself laughing one moment and tearing up the next. The blend of humor and heartfelt moments was beautifully balanced, making the reading experience more enjoyable. By the end, my heart just felt full.I'm eagerly looking forward to continuing this series and can't wait to see how the other characters’ stories unfold!

3.5-stars: 'Done and Dusted' by Lyla Sage
I kept seeing Done and Dusted by Lyla Sage pop up on my social media from other accounts I follow, which intrigued me enough to pick it up, especially when it had one of my favorite tropes, Brother’s Best Friend. I can’t ever pass up a book with this trope, so I borrowed a copy of the book from my local library to read it.The main characters, Emmy Ryder and Luke Brooks had known each other for years since Luke is basically a part of the Ryder family and was always around when Emmy was younger due to him being best friends with one of her brothers. When Emmy returns home to Meadowlark, Wyoming, after having an accident that devastated her and stopped her from doing what she loved, she ends up running into Luke at the local bar, and she’s not thrilled about it at first. She remembers how he used to treat her and how he’s been known as the bad boy for years. Luke’s not the same person as before, and he knows he should stay away from Emmy, but it’s kind of hard not to when he’s at her family’s house constantly. He also knows something is wrong with Emmy, and he’s determined to find out what happened to her and why she returned home. The undeniable chemistry between Emmy and Luke is a highlight of Done and Dusted. Despite their best efforts to resist their feelings for one another, it was inevitable that it would grow stronger with each encounter. Luke’s role in helping Emmy overcome her fears and rediscover her passions definitely made me love his character, and I loved how it added a layer of depth to their relationship, making their romantic journey all the more enticing.Done and Dusted was a good read, but it didn’t quite capture my heart. There were enough intriguing elements in the book that were cute and steamy and kept me interested in the story. I definitely loved the fact that it didn’t have the third-act breakup scene, which was a breath of fresh air. The over-protective brother who threw a fit, though, I wasn’t a fan of at all. The whole time, the main characters had to worry about him finding out, and they shouldn’t have, especially when Emmy is an adult and makes her own decisions.Overall, I give this book 3.5 stars, and I’m glad I read the book because I found a new author. I’m definitely going to check out the rest of the books in the Rebel Blue Ranch series.I recommend this to readers who enjoy reading a small-town cowboy romance where the FMC tries not to fall for her big brother’s best friend, especially when she can’t seem to stop running into him after she returns home.Audiobook Recommendation: If you enjoy listening to your books, check out the audiobook of Done and Dusted. I ended up buying the audiobook because I tend to listen to books more nowadays, so I can get things done while also still enjoying reading books. Aaron Shelock and Stella Hunter were the narrators for Done and Dusted, and I loved both of these narrators.Trope(s)/Element(s):✓Small Town Romance✓Cowboy Romance✓Slow Burn Romance✓Brother’s Best Friend
