Built to last
Picked these up and put them through the red and green briars. Zero sign of wear. Very good product.

Stop Looking and BUY THIS!
Took these out in the forest for an hour tonight, the same day they came in the mail. Worked great! The belt clip is better than shown in the pictures. The pair I received had a sturdy metal clip (see photo). Same with the kid's pair I bought for my 7yo.I like that these are unlined since it doesn't stay cold long in Houston. These could be worn with blue jean shorts.A good pair of briar proof chaps are to rabbit hunting what chest waders are to duck hunting. A basic necessity of the sport. Especially if you don't have a dog and need to stomp around brush piles a bit to flush them out.Was also thinking of getting snake chaps, but even if I do these will see a lot of use.

The real deal, as a forester i put these to to toughest tests on a daily basis busting through multi floral rose, green briar, black berries, barberry, locust and crab apple here in S. Western pa. Three years on a pair I have now and they only have minimal fuzzy fray rear the ground Huge sturdy zippers open and close easily in muddy or freezing conditions allowing for easy application over boots. Seems to absorb and hold permethrin for long effective periods of up to 6 months even with constant use in brush and wet weather. Light and loose enough to wear over pants during hot summers.

Pretty Good So Far
Used them this past season for pheasant hunting and they did the job turning briars, etc. The straps are the weak aspect of these otherwise well-made chaps. We will see how they hold up.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
Excellent product! The metal clips (recent addition?) will keep the chaps in place, but somewhat difficult to remove if your belt is tight. I did sweat though (55 degrees) and assume responsibility because I was wearing medium weight pants...next time I'll wear lighter pants when working hard. The leg room is generous (32 inseam) and the long zipper up the leg allowed me to put the chaps on and off without taking my boots off - a real plus! Well done!!

Quality product and great protection
I bought a pair of these and the waterproof version for my first trip to SD for the pheasant opener. I ended up keeping this version because I liked the nylon fabric a bit better and they were less noisy when strutting around the house. In SD they provided great protection for brush busting and stomping through the sorghum. There was plenty of dew on the vegetation and my pants (underneath the chaps) came out perfectly dry. These are a great option in lieu of having a few pairs of brush pants.

Very tough
Wore these over a pair of shorts on a saw briar choked ridge. Legs were not nicked by any briars. Stomping thru these things with a ditch bank blade is a slow process and there is always branches that fall out to the side or just behind to snag on you from behind. Your back and elbows are at risk also. Legs were not affected. These things are hot to wear but I will take that to avoid getting eat up by briars. Green briars is perhaps the correct term for my term saw briar. Terminology matters little when one is on a steep bank thrashing through a mess like that. Blackberry briars thrive and were up six or more feet and in abundance. As one cuts thru them they are difficult to cut cleanly and they wad up and gain density which creates more snag points as you move forward. These chaps held up and made the job easier to get through. I keep them with me all the time now.
