Works really good
I work in a professional kitchen environment, so my knifes get used a lot. Someone left the backdoor open once and our in house honer was lifted, so I got this. It's super easy to use and comes with instructions which is neat. I used to suck at honing knives and now I feel like a pro. As you can see the edge on my workhorse is nice. Handle feels nice and the product seems like it'll last a lifetime or two. I swear the bad reviews are absolutely people using this wrong.Note: I've had this for 2 months and didn't use it on my Dalstrong until I practiced on other knives first until I got it down.Update 03-3-25: Has held up well, fits loads of stuff, my collection really grew! As seen in the very last pic! I do a variety of different prep tasks and it holds nearly all of my most important utensils.

Knife Sharpener
Bought this sharpener to replace a 30 year old knife sharpener. Works great and does the job in just a couple minutes. Would recommend this product.

This works, the others are a waste of $
Last Thanksgiving I was asked to carve the turkey. Our host offered her sister-in-laws knife which ," was just sharpened professionally," to carve the roast... Things did not go well. I looked around the kitchen and spied a honing steel and thought," ah, maybe I can cut this turkey yet"....Not! The steel was cheap and not hard enough to grip the edge of the dull blade. Well, let try the host's knife.... it was just as dull as her sister -in-laws knife, (what a surprise). If she just had a decent honing steel... .So, back at the ranch, I thought, I'll order the steel I use, and give it to them when we go back at Christmas time.I ordered the steel from Chicago ------- , but it didn't look like the same steel I use and looked like 90% of the cheap stuff out there, so I had to check it. Surprise,surprise....hah what a piece of junk. It was sent back.Started my search again, this time I looked for reviews with lots of happy customers. Noble seemed to fit the bill. People were saying, "hey this works!" and ," I like the feel in my hand and high quality look". With less than a week till Christmas, I ordered one and got it pretty quick. Opened the package, pulled out the steel and ran one of my knives over it.... ahhh , this works! I cleaned it off and didn't bother wrapping it , it was going to be put to use, very soon.Christmas arrived and they had a ham. This time I was ready. Using the Noble honing steel,(it does sharpen a bit, because it removes a small amount of the dull knife steel...but, not to worry, it's magnetized, so it catches anything coming off the edge...another kudos to Noble's design). This was a really dull blade so I had to work with it for a few minutes to get the edge back, but once I had finished, the blade was quite sharp and did a fine job slicing the Christmas ham.I plan on ordering two more of these steels, one for each of the in-laws. Great price, great product. -- Dave

Solid Honing Knife, But Doesn't Magnetize
It's a solid Honing rod. I spent 45 minutes sharpening my knife on a whetstone, and figured I'd give this a shot as my kitchen Knife wasn't sharp enough.I gave a few swipes on this, and now my knife is extremely sharp! My only issue was that it was not magnetized out of the box. I didn't feel any sticking of the blade to the Honing rod.

Excellent honing rod! Knife cuts like butter!
I should note I'm not the most experienced person when it comes to sharpening blades and such. That being said, after watching a few Youtube videos on the subject it wasn't long before I was confidently honing multiple knives in the kitchen and even my kershaw pocket knife. Given what I've read on other reviews for much cheaper steels in the $5-$10 range, this is something you do not want to skimp out on, and I am very impressed with this thing. The magnetization definitely works, though I'd advise you to give the blade a good wipe anyway because while it may help stop particles going airborne, some will most certainly still be found on the knife itself, so grab a small bit of damp paper towel and clean the knife then the honing rod.Performance? I'm completely satisfied. I've always been aware of the importance of sharpening a knife but I've never realized how much of a difference, and how crucial it is to hone your knife after every few uses or so, and having used our for years, it's no wonder nothing I've done to them has helped much -- until now. I currently use a Chef's Hybrid 250 sharpening system and coupled with this rod, I'm very pleased with my knives now, though I am waiting for my ceramic sharpening stones to come in soon for added... sharpness ;)Overall the kitchen is a much more pleasurable place to prep ingredients in and my family and I are definitely much safer using a truly sharpened knife so we can avoid making any careless maneuvering for the sake of slicing that darn papaya. Highly recommend!
