Best home theater system available in this range. Great product!
This stereo is worth of it's praise. Sound quality and system management is Great. I replaced a Yamaha Atmos system that started failing with the Onkyo after careful reviewing of the best home theater systems out there, and this unit really excels. The room sound set up is top-notch. The amount of control of the smallest items is available on the web interface. (They could improve the phone interface a bit though). This unit is a GREAT choice!

Using zone two speakers in the TV input.
I spoke to my TV Cox provider along with the sales rep from Churchfield and they explained there is a WAY to run the Zone Two to speakers to your TV outlet. THIS IS BIG! Take the RCA plugs (not HDMI) in the back of the TV cable box and run them into the "stream box" into the receiver then turn on zone two and you can get the zone two speakers working through the TV outlet. Now you can have two additional speakers for TV, movies, and above all when we go out to the pool we use our TV cable radio stations for music using the zone two speakers. I know have the HDMI in the TV input and the RCA plugs in the Stream box inputs. None of this is explained in the manual which is online but it's an extremely important feature you must know. Overall the receiver has a lot of bells and whistles and I hooked up all nine speakers including zone two. I just hope it lasts as long as my Yamaha which was almost 20 years.

Disappointed
I bought an Onkyo THX surround sound in 2000. 24 years later it finally went out. So I wanted another Onkyo. So I bought this one even tho I so some bad reviews. I was hoping those were isolated issues but it was not. After set up it worked for about three days. Then you would turn it on and get no audio. Other times the video and audio would work, then you switch inputs and the audio would not work. So I would switch back to what was working….. and now that would not work and the screen would start flashing. It is sad because I wanted to give Onkyo my business. So this was a let down.

Mediocre
This has very powerful amplification but the D.A.C. is frankly, garbage. Lossless digital streams sound noticeably more muffled than records on a $100 record player with a built in phono pre-amp. Dirac fixes the poor audio quality but only partially. I'm sure this would sound better with a separate CD player/streamer and D.A.C. I just expected a better all in one solution for well over $1000.

Solid well built design.
May well be the best bang for the buck for any AV receiver. The sound is superb hi-resolution once broken in. The picture from a Sony A90J comes at me enhanced like it has been overclocked; both color and contrast have moved a step forward.

Under $1,000 @ the Top
Takes time to setup. I listen in Stereo only. As expected what comes out is only as good as wheat goes in. Incredibly efficient and vivid. CD and Phono Playback is sublime for the amount of money. Unless you are on a quest to impress because you have the money and nothing else better to do. TXRZ-50 does it All. Even for Home Theater Application. It will be difficult to surpass its quality. It was 2021's AVR of the year by most Audiophile and Home Theater influencers. Got this for $969. as a prime member. New Unused. If you can top that, do not flinch if you are in the market for a new Receiver / Network Amp. / AVR. Also the Onkyo Controller App is cool when other name brand source components are connected to the TXRZ 50 via HDMI.
