As someone with a military background who has eaten many MREs in my day, from C-rations to the newly developed MREs with heater backs, this item makes sense as a long-term storage item, the main meal is freeze-dried which allows long-term storage and also has many other related food items that are part of the package and is cheaper than buying a single pack of freeze-dried food.

For the price you not only get the freeze dried main at around $10 online or in the store. but you get all the added extras. drinks,snacks and accessories. You can’t get a better deal. A great price, plenty of time left before first inspection and these meals have been hard to find at time. These meals are light weight, take up less room then typical meals and taste good so I definitely recommend.

These are genuine and still good — the Mylar bags with the dehydrated meals will be good for the next 30 years. The accessories will spoil long before that, but these are a good deal for what they are and the variety.
