Outstanding adventure that builds on the basic Four Against Darkness book. There's a fair amount of content to this adventure and it provides enough of a challenge without overwhelming the adventurers.

This adventure which is intended for level 3 parties is not in the same format as the vanilla rulebook, or Caves of the Kobold Slavemasters or Dark Waters. Instead, this adventure is more akin to randomized choose your own adventure book. The plot is that you are chasing some orc bandits through a forest, there is "no map", instead, you roll on a d66 table to see if you find the orcs or not. If one was wanting more of a traditional dungeon crawl with tiles and maps, I suggest pairing this other 4ad material. Here are my suggestions: Crucible of Classic Critters (or one of the forest themed adventure decks which can be found on drivethru cards) can be used to draw forest dungeon tiles. Instead of following this adventure, I would instead use this adventure as a trade out for Special Events or Special Features on the regular contents table. 3 Rings also comes with a hut table, and one can houserule that one can roll on the this table when encountering a forest tile with a hut on it. Wayfarers & Adventurers would also be good to pair with this book as it comes with woodland themed classes and special item called leafsteel armor, which can only be purchased if you find a wandering elf. "Spoiler" one or two of the d66 encounters in 3 Rings is a wandering elf, and therefore, you would be able to get Leefsteel armor from this elf. As what can be ventured, 4ad games and supplements can be played as is, but one really gets the true value out of these games when one becomes their own "playmaster" and mix and matches contents from books to create their own gaming experiences.
