"Designed for 'Sealed Lead Batteries/Cells only"!
I own a well designed Spectrum Analyzer that had one MAJOR problem: the built-in battery charging circuit failed and it was dead-dead. I understand this is a common problem. There are NO public schematics and the 'charging circuit' has many "tiny parts" that are 'buried' between many other tiny components and the metal conductive case is 3/8" away. This made trouble shooting (almost) impossible unless I cut a hole in the case? This ANALYZER sat on a shelf for almost 1 year and I dearly missed it!I bought a fresh 12V Battery ('sealed lead cells'). I disconnected the one wire from the charger jack (TO the original 'internal charger'). This totally bypassed the "internal" ANALYZER charger. I added a DC connector to the 'new charger cord' that agrees with the original charger. Now USING this charger my ANALYZER is now FULLY operational again and even BETTER!This external supply has a 3-State LED Indicator providing battery status:GREEN = "Fully charged".YELLOW = Charging OR Running low, 'time to charge'!RED = Charging now.This Smart Charger QUICKLY charges and 'maintains' (or 'float charges') your Battery. Simply connect it and forget it. Your ANALYZER (as an example) can LIVE AGAIN and mine is 100% READY for "portable operations" too. This is a very decent, low cost charger for sure. A final point: This Charger is designed for 'Sealed Lead Cells' ONLY as used in many alarm systems, power supplies and more. Connect only "sealed lead" batteries! Other battery types MAY be destroyed or possibly overheat and explode.

SLA Charger/Maintainer
This is used as a primary power source and battery maintainer for the 7AH back up battery in a device. The battery provides power in case of a power outage. This charger works well in this application powering the load while keeping the battery fully charged. Hasn't been operating long so can't comment on how long it will last.

Charges but the Status Light Does Not Work
The charge status light does not work.I attached the charger to a 12V 7.2 Amp-hr battery and after 2 days the charge status light was still red.The starting voltage for the battery was 12.15V and after 2 day the battery voltage with the charger leads removed was 14.15V and the light was still red.

Bought a 2nd & 3rd one.
When maintaining a battery on a battery rarely used like a generator or the truck that just sets in the drive for when I need a truck. These are good for that.

On the small side
Very small, the Positive/Negative cables are short, and the alligator clamps might be too small to connect to an auto battery, but they work flawlessly.

Wimpy Low Current Terminals
The terminals are too wimpy for my application. This is a lighter duty battery than the advertising suggests. It might be great for some light duty applications. Not a good replacement for the battery in portable jump starters. I would not trust it for that application. The ad needs to be improved. It's misleading.
