Decent toy for kiddos
DISCLAIMER: Have NOT used it as a remote. Bought this as a toy for a baby. Kiddo loves it, because it looks like Mom and Dad's remote. Had to put electrical tape over the empty battery slot (inside the cover), because kiddo likes to open and close the cover and chews on the whole thing, causing rust and general yuck inside. Some saliva still can get inside, but the tape helps a lot, and at least the rust cant get into kiddo's mouth. Would purchase again, but haven't needed to, since two genuine google tv remotes have been damaged and gifted to kiddo. Rejoicing abounds in Remote Land.

Keeps disconnecting.
Keeps disconnecting, every day, will not reconnect, have to unpair and repair. Too much trouble to deal with, will buy OEM this time.

Pairing with Chromecast - I Almost Returned This
(I am using this with a 2022 Google Chromecast)There is no quick pairing button on the remote, contrary to what one of the pictures says. And it certainly doesn't pair automatically. Here are the steps that worked for me (I also attached a marked-up photo of the manufacturer instructions, which were buried in one of the product photos):1. Press the button on back of Chromecast (below the LED) until light flashes amber.2. On TV screen you will see Chromecast is looking for devices to pair with.3. On remote, press and hold HOME + BACK simultaneously, till LED blinks.4. The remote should appear on the TV screen within a few seconds.5. Now you have to select the Remote on screen. How do you do that without a working remote??Seems like a Catch-22, how do you select the Remote to pair, when you don't have a working remote? Use the Remote function on your Google Home app. 1) Open Google Home app (install if needed). 2) Select the Chromecast device you are trying to pair with. 3) Click the REMOTE button at bottom, to bring up an on-screen virtual remote. 4) Use that to select the replacement remote.
