Amazing camera.
Camera is amazingQualityBattery lifeDetection featuresCloud and SD storage for all things recorded.App with effortless streaming all very good aspects of this camera. It’s a good portable camera that’s a great addiction without needing to hardwire or need solar panels.1 downside it wouldn’t connect to my google home as advertised but again their app works fine,Hoping soon they bring out a battery camera similar to this but allows you to rotate the camera when you want.

Fantastic outdoor camera
I have many indoor Tapo cameras and absolutely love them and this camera is no different. It’s such a great little piece of equipment. The picture quality is great especially in night mode you can see clearly. I have it in my back garden to try deter intruders and keep an eye on my dogs if they are outside. It has great motion detection and seems to be able to tell the difference between a person and animal (however it does not seem to be able to tell the difference at night in the dark). I was testing it with my 2 dogs and myself. It has an alarm feature that it will make a noise if it detects movement in the garden and you can personalise if it’s all movement, a person, an animal or a car. You can set it up so there are flashing lights if it detects movement if you don’t want the alarm sound. It was really easy to mount as is screwed it into my wooden fencing and came with the screws needed. You can also see how much battery life is left on the app. I am very impressed and feel a lot safer with this added security to my home. Just one thing to note that it works off WiFi and even having it right outside my back door it was not reaching the WiFi however I got a WiFi booster plug and plugged it near my back door so the camera works perfectly using the WiFi.

A view to a sill
Great Camera, sitting on my windowsill, been on for over a month, checked it last week and battery was still at 82% it has given me messages saying it turns on too often but at 82% in over three weeks of use I am happy with the battery life. The camera can differentiate between people and cars and setting up the area to focus on for alerts is also useful. For the price it was a great buy and connected to my WiFi easier then 1,2,3. The alert speeds are instantaneous and viewing at night the brightness is clear as day.

Good pic. Easy install.
I like Tapo as a make. They are always reliable products that are easy to install. This is no exception. Pop in an SD card, screw it tobaxwall, open the app, follow the instructions and you're done.2 months in and it's still on 90%. So the battery is good. And the video quality is excellent. Which is to be expected with Tapo. Now I can keep an eye in my back porch. 😃

Great product.
I live in the uk and this camera is really good for the priceI’ve had it on over 3 weeks now and the battery is still at 40%. This is very good considering I have it active 24/7 facing my car in front of my house, so it gets activated regularly by passers by. The pic attached shows the view, but the camera is very clever and you can set a box shape for the area you want where motion need to be captured, so it ignores any motion outside of the box…I have it set around my car and so anything out of view does not activate it. Very goodInstallation was easy, set up was easyCons: it wasn’t recording all events/activating on motion for some reason at the start, but that resolved itself and it’s now working great. Also I have a large memory card I bought separately so it records everything in that, if you sdont have one then there is a paid cloud subscription service which I am not a fan of.

Good, solid piece of kit
Early days, but the product arrived well packaged, and easy to follow instructions. On testing, the images were of good quality. As to the battery life, I wait to see how it performs

Disappointing Performance, Poor Support, and Privacy Concerns
The Tapo Camera TC82 looks great, and at first, you might think it’s up to the task—but unfortunately, it’s not. Motion detection is unreliable; recordings don’t activate fast enough, often missing the first few seconds, meaning you might only catch someone leaving the scene. Additionally, recordings randomly cut off even when there’s clear movement on camera. Detection is hit or miss—sometimes it misses entirely, while other times, it mistakes a stone on the ground for a person.A major flaw with the TC82 is its poor battery life when used with a Tapo Hub. Despite investing in the Tapo ecosystem, I found the hub rapidly drained the camera’s battery. Support confirmed the hub was constantly sending requests to the camera but couldn’t explain why, and they ultimately gave up. I had to separate my Tapo Hub and TC82 onto different IP ranges to prevent this issue.Warranty support is disappointing. I had to return a camera due to what I assume was rainwater damage, but despite using a tracked service, they claimed they never received the package, making me wait weeks for a replacement. Now, I’m trying to get an RMA for a faulty solar panel, but the support process is painfully slow, with unhelpful emails dragging things out. I dread sending it back, knowing the service will likely be just as bad.I also have privacy concerns after noticing that Tapo devices send data to China and direct to China’s version of Google. I don’t know why, but it makes me question whether choosing the Tapo ecosystem was a smart decision.
