It’s does exactly what it says IF YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS!
I started with jet black hair.First I used a color stripper to pull out the black. Then coated my hair with K18 leave in mask. Didn’t wash for three days. This brought my hair to a burnt orange color. Then I used wella developer- a 30- with manic panic bleach. Coated in K18 leave in mask and my hair was lifted to a 9.Again- no washing for three days to allow the hair to rest and let the k18 do its job.Washed finally. Coated again in k18 and waited two days- then applied this hair color. Most importantly- when using got2b- follow the directions. Rinse the color out only- do not use shampoo and conditioner- that’s why so many reviews say the color washed right down the drain.Rinse throughly in cold water- not hot- not lukewarm.Apply the after color conditioner- let it set for the minimum two minutes- I let it set for 5-10.Rinse. Towel dry.I got the exact color on the box the first time around. Here’s the thing- this will not work on hair color any darker than a 7-8. So there’s a lot of reviews that say it’s crap….it's not- if you’re literate. After you’ve towel dried- another healthy coat of k18 won’t hurt. Then again- don’t wash your hair for 72 hours. After processing your follicles are wide open- and using shampoo will take the color right out.Let your natural oils return- use a damn good mask- and follow directions. For 12$ this is the best silver gray I’ve ever used. Will 100% use it again. Have been to numerous salons looking to get my natural gray blended and no one could do it.

pretty color
I didn't expect much with this, as sometimes dye doesn't take well to my hair. I expected black at best, no real change at worst. I'm pleasantly surprised; it looks like what the box said it would, subtle gray-blue that shows up really well in good lighting.Reading over reviews, I see a lot of people who aren't happy with results. There's any number of reasons for that.▪︎First and foremost, if your hair is damaged, it may not take to the color. I've bleached and dyed with reliable dyes only to have a barely-there or pastel tint of color.▪︎Bleaching is extremely harsh on your hair. At-home bleaching is a risk, always, even if you know what you're doing. If you bleached prior to using this dye, you may have opened the cuticle too much, or not done enough repair to close it again.▪︎Unnatural color fades and sometimes it fades quickly; blue is notorious for requiring a lot of upkeep. You have to wash your hair infrequently and cold water is recommended. Add dye to your conditioner to re-deposit color, or better yet, get Overtone. Dyed hair REQUIRES maintenance.▪︎Unnatural colored dyes bleed and stain. That's just a fact of life. This dye is not regular box dye, but unnaturally colored dye made more accessible for people who don't want to bleach and damage their hair.▪︎The above point being said, it's not going to look the same as the hair on someone who went to a salon and had a professional dye their hair purple. Have realistic expectations.▪︎Everyone's hair is different; thickness, porosity, etc. The dye might work on some hair and not others. Splat works great for some people, but I find it to be the worst dye for my hair. It doesn't take! But some people get beautiful results with it.tl;dr if you're expecting salon-quality color from a $10 box of dye, you're going to have a bad time.

Do not recommend.
Not good - didn’t go very far, I had two boxes and ran out using on my barely shoulder-length hair. Also the color is odd - didn’t stick to my roots or ends well at all despite gentle pre-lightening to a level 8/9. Comes out more of a green grey vs true grey as well. Some of that was expected due to my hair not getting to a level 10, but at this amount I feel like the product is not good.Would not recommend this product.

Works for my gray hair
It’s covering my gray hair pretty good. The color stays metallic till the first shower, but gray still covered. Delivered quickly

Did not work great for me but ...
This product did not work for me but I will caveat that I was not using it traditionally. I like to color my hair more because it changes the texture of grey hairs that are coarse and kinky. I decided to use this color not to change the color of my grey hairs but to try to get the texture change. It was not a big success on the texture front and also slightly lightened my black hair.

good before your hair is naturally gray.
Metalic hair color. I've used this color before and really liked it. But now I'm gray headed and thought it would work and it doesnt. So disappointed.

Dusty Silver - In my 40s and embracing my grays
M72 Dusty Silver - I bought this to try to ease the transition of growing out my gray roots. In the before photo you can see the gray grow out and the faded brown/auburn color. The after is one application of the Dusty Silver.Definitely not the dark ash color on the box, but it did what I wanted it to do, which was to make my gray grow out less noticeable and make it easier for my transition to letting it all grow out.
