Good sturdy pedal
A good sturdy pedal which can be used in various ways. I use it primarily to hold the Arpeggiator on my ARP Quadra.Good value for a simple device, which does what it’s meant to.

The best option for a compact sustain pedal
If you want something more portable than a piano style sustain pedal I think that this one is the best option. It is built very solidly, unlike pretty much anything else at this price it is all metal. It had a polarity switch. Works perfectly with Native Instruments keyboard controllers and pretty much anything else.

Sturdy and functions well
Like the equivalent M-Audio version, have had several of these which have all been reliable and easy to use

Ok as a utility switch but not nice for sustain
Decent size but very light and prone to moving. All plastic with quite loud on/off click during operation. Ok as an occasional utility switch but click is too off-putting to use as sustain pedal.

Its fragile, will break if you play standing.
It is not durable if you're going to be using it standing up.I bought this in December and it is now February and it has failed me. Twice.I love the design of it, it looks great and fits right in into my setup however it just doesn't stand up to its funciton all the way. There is too much pressure on the tiny switch inside which some of your weight rests on! Which is ridiculous im not surprised it broke, theres even a little indent on the plastic which puts even more pressure on soley this switch. Ive had to fix the switch, twice and each time its failed to the point where I had to get a wooden block to stop the top of the pedal before it hits the switch and that doesnt work and now I need a new switch for it which for how cheap it is, isnt worth it.I dont want to do this labour after only a month of having this! The design of the mechanics of the pedal is poor and it wont survive you if you want to slam on it (as you do) or rest on it which could be solved easily but it shouldn't break after a few weeks of use.

Does the job
Not a lot I can say about this except that it does the job - it's light enough to travel with (I've used it with a mini keyboard), it 'just works', it feels sturdy enough, and it's cheap. I'm sure there are comparable other products, but I bought this partly because of trust in the Alesis brand.
