this was my first time trying something of this kind of kava drink and I definitely will say it was an interesting one. This drink though it will take me a while to get used to, it really was a fun experience trying out.For me to prepare my own drink like the traditional people who created it, was pretty fun. it wasn't really difficult either. in total it took about 15 minutes( 5 minutes to soak and 10 to knead in the water)which isn't long if you ask me. I just found the taste to be a tad different than I'm used to when I tasted it. I have been trying almost each time but I get the same taste so yeah this will definitely take a while to get used to. as for the effects, yeah I noticed the effects of the calmness that was stated. for me it started kicking in after a few minutes or so. I'm not really surprised about that as I have a fast metabolism not to mention the body weight is on the lean side. I also noticed there was a slight numbness on the tongue but vanished after a few minutes or so.Overall this really was an interesting experience for me trying this type of kava powder. I just wish the flavor was a tad better.

Hello kava drinkers! Like you, im thankful for the assortments of kava available on amazon. But, you could possibly go thru manu kavas til you fins the bramds and types that suit your potency, consitency, and taste.I just picked up this new variety and have to say, this Volcano Island has the mildest, soil-less(its a root after all). When people call it kava tea, this is is what i think they mean. It processes well and provides a good session.I checked out the vendors website and really value them actually going to the islands where they get the kava from to insure the quality are looking to achieve. Thats right, these guys go get their own kava from the farmers and are not resellers.You looking for arguably the smoothest tasting kava? Grab yourself a bag of this and see for yourself!

****want to edit due to the customer service I received, they offered a refund 3 times but I never saw because I lost access to the email account l, going back like 4 months ....until 3 days ago, they reached out AGAIN, and I saw and they refunded, checking 4 times when they could have given up after like the second is awesome....I have no problem with the kava quality, just the grind, so many thick large root cuts that can't be extracted, if that changes I may try again but I appreciate what they did.Problem with this too course stuff is it takes boiling water to loosen the fibers of those hard root chunks to even try to extract anything so from the start easily 20% of this is unusable ......took a chance and hit a miss lol. For myself and my husband, this was extremely difficult to ingest both hot and cold. It has a strong taste and tingles/numbs your mouth . I may not have consumed enough and my stomach was not empty enough to feel the effects. But it seems great quality if you can handle it and it brings you relatation . It smelled nice and earthy.

Good quality. Love the relaxed feeling this gives me. Taste is awful no matter what I do but that’s expected with kava. Great value for the money, very effective, easy to swallow or drink

It has a strange almost chemical like smell, and it's full of stems compared to other kava I've purchased. The effects were not that noticable unless you drink a lot more than you would with other brands .
