The Essential Paul Simon

Just love it. Love the work of Paul Simon. As ever, there are so many of his songs to choose from and as it says on the label, The Essential, I guess even that is up for debate. But what is included isn't that far away from the truth. Highly recommended.

Just what I needed

I have various Paul Simon albums on vinyl with, like many music collectors, nothing to play them on and bought this 2 CD set for a typically great Amazon price as I felt I'd gone too long without some of the tunes. Quite a number of my favourites appear here - though unfortunately not 'I Do It For Your Love' which is arguably my number one Paul Simon song - and there are predictably a few tracks from the excellent 'Graceland'. Some reviews suggested that the sound quality is not great; I accept this may well be the case but I'm no technician. It is possible that the way some of the tracks has been engineered was not the way Simon intended and if so, this is a great pity and really not on as every listener - technician or not - should have the opportunity to hear these songs as their author intended. To my ears, the sound is not nearly as bad as certain reviews may have suggested and will certainly do as the in-car entertainment that was the basis of my reason to purchase. New to Paul Simon? - I think better compilations exist. Try to track one down which the man himself has approved.

Great album packed full of his greatest hits. Speedy delivery.

I was overjoyed at the great condition of the album , looked brand new, and even happier when I found that it was a double album!! Some of the tracks I already have on other albums but there were many that I don’t have and it’s always good to have my favourites on one disc

Have loved his music for several years, especially the African influence.
