I’ve been using this mat daily for two weeks, and overall, it’s a great product. It came well-packaged, had no chemical smell, and rolled out flat immediately—no annoying curling or settling time.✔️ Cushioning & Stability: The 8mm thickness hits a nice balance. It’s soft enough to be easy on the joints (especially my knees) but firm enough that I don’t feel like I’m sinking or losing stability. I’ve used it for HIIT, pushups, yoga, and stretching, and it holds up well across different workouts.✔️ Grip & Non-Slip: This thing does not move. I use it on laminate flooring, and even during high-intensity workouts, there’s zero slipping or bunching. The surface works well whether I’m barefoot, in socks, or wearing shoes. One side is designed to grip the floor, and the other for workouts. Both do their job well.✔️ Size & Portability: The 6’ x 4’ size gives plenty of space to move without stepping off. It’s especially useful for VR fitness since it sets a clear tactile boundary for movement. Rolling it up is easy, and the storage bag is actually big enough to fit the mat without a struggle.⛔ The Straps Could Be Better: My only complaint is the included straps. One arrived broken, and they feel flimsy and awkward to use. I ended up replacing them with Aolamegs 20x2 Elastic Yoga Mat Straps, which work much better.FINAL THOUGHTSFor the price, it’s a solid mat—comfortable, durable, and great for joint support. If you need a large workout mat with good grip and cushioning, this is a great option. Just be prepared to swap out the straps if you plan on storing it regularly.

Top quality product as described. Even its storage bag, storage straps and towel it comes with are nice! Lays flat with no curling at the edges. Very comfortable to workout on. You feel both supported and cushioned when using it. This is by far the best mat I have ever purchased!!! 1st it was packed nicely, even came w a nice gorilla sweat towel as a gift for my purchase (was not expecting that so it was nice). came on time and for the price you cant beat this. size is perfect and this mat is beyond amazing. its durable, stays in place, doesn't fold up or get in your way. has great traction and is soft like but sturdy enough for any workout...I lift weights on it, place heavy weights on it and the indentions of the weight on the mat disappear when you take them off. if your looking for a mat, please purchase this gorilla. I've used a lot of others (usually dont hold up like this one) as I'm a personal Trainer and I train all my clients on this mat and its holds up to its name...I was NOT given anything free for my review this is all true, and in fact I don't leave reviews often at all but this mat makes me so dang happy I had to leave a one, a good one too bc I want others to know this mat is legit. thanks to the seller for selling such an amazing product at an affordable price!!!

I made the mistake of interpreting the liberal use of the word "barefoot" to mean that this mat had great padding (it does) and it was a great size too. However, I do wear shoes for most of my at home workouts and this mat cannot handle it. It's constantly shedding little bits off the top, to the point where my cool down includes having to vacumme the floor when I'm done. So check out the *other* mat for any workouts that involve wearing shoes!

Finally added photos from when it arrived.******************************************************************I was apprehensive due to cost and the negative reviews, especially about the durability. However, this is a purchase that has made me very happy*I love the cushion factor (compared to a regular yoga mat)*My hands and feet don't slide at all on this mat (as I did on my regular yoga mat)*So far I have not had any issues with durability, but I use it solely for exercise/yoga and I do keep out on the floor most of the time, but I don't casually walk on it*My only wish is that I would have bought blue instead of black, and maybe a larger size (XL?) although this one (Large) is plenty large for my 5'4" frame. This isn't a size you would probably take to an exercise class or studio, but for home it is awesome!*I have experienced NO off gassing chemical smell with this product as I was worried about based on someone's review (I believe this product is made of all natural material based on what read on the company website, can't recall for certain).*The mat came well packaged, but not in a box... a large yoga bag with the labels on that bag. I was in new/unused condition as it came from Gorilla Mats, not some 3rd party seller (well...I guess amazon fits 3rd party seller..so maybe I mean 4th party seller?)*This product makes me very happy and it is nice to say I have had no regrets about the product or the cost. It has exceeded my expectations so far.

It doesn't buckle up and move around during use. It gives a good grip to the bottoms of the feet when needed, yet doesn't have too much friction for sliding movements. When doing lessons involving the rolling of the back it gives a marvelous back rub at the same time, a completely unexpected bonus. The width is great. I've wanted a surface like this for many years. (I use it with the textured, colored side up.)The quality seems excellent and it was packaged beautifully for shipping.
