It works really well as a drum tom and instrument cabinet mic; Not so much Bass drum mic.
I actually ended up using two of these for my guitar cabinet and, love the way they sound. I can almost phase them like I would sm57s. Granted, it's not the exact sound but, it's pretty close and cuts well enough through the mix where I don't have to do a lot of mid eqing. They're hefty, they feel good build-wise, and they sound good with multiple applications. Only forewarning, just don't do things with a whole lot of bottom end with drums. They tend to I guess the best term of sound I can give is, sound very "tom" like length of decay with anything in the low and registry for drums. Wasn't terrible on low tom, got worse by the floor tom and even worse when used for bass drum.Outside of that, love them!

These things…
I love these things, I have dm 70’s on my rack toms, a dm 80 on my floor tom. Not a complaint about them. For the money, these are pretty sweet’

Great price for an owsome mic!!!
I bought the Nady Dm70 as a backup microphone but once I tried, it is the main mic for my drum. I noticed, the sound was very sharp and clear. The Nady Dm70 is much better than many others expensive microphones. You won't regret buying it.

In some ways, better than 57
Admittedly, I have yet to use this on a full session. If my opinion changes I'll update. But using this for professional drum mic'ing/recording - on rack toms. I think the sound is indistinguishable from a 57 on toms, but the additional upside is A) it's smaller and less intrusive on the toms, but mostly B) I was literally shocked and the rear rejection this mic has for cymbals wash. In a DAW the tom his just pop out -- making things much easier to mix. Very impressed so far.

Nady DM70 drum mic
Hello Boys and Girls, are you looking for a very cheap way to get the reinforcement you need at the club or wedding venue? do you want the high quality of Nady(they make wireless guitar transmitters like Joe Perry uses) w/o the ass-biting cost? Me too.So i bought this little mama from Amazon, 'cuz it was the lowest price, for the best name brand.See, i plays in a 6-piece wedding band, i plays drums and sometimes we play small clubs and dirty dives. I needs bass drum BOOM and i get it with the Nady DM70. just plug an XLR cable(not included)into the mic and run it to your board, let the sound guy(or in this case the keys player)EQ and level it,and man,you got bottom.Great little mic, great little price.comes w/plastic box and includes folding mic clip.Me Likey.
