About Seiko: In 1877 at the age of 18 Kintaro Hattori founded a business to repair the increasingly popular Western watches in Japan. By 1892, Hattori produced his own timepieces at a factory he called Seikosha. The first watch started the Seiko brand in 1913. Innovation has always been a driving force in the company's history. In the major milestones, Seiko & Apos introduced the world's first quartz watch in 1969, and launched the world's first battery-free watch with quartz precision in 1988. Recognized for its superior craftsmanship, Seiko has served timekeeping services to the Olympic Games and World Cup Football Championships. Today, the Seiko brand continues to insist on cutting edge technology, superior quality and sophisticated design.
