I have been looking at this at Jerry's Artarama art supplies for along time and decided to check to see if Amazon carried it, They did! I noticed it didn't have many reviews on it , I was surprised due to the fact it is quit popular at Jerry's but where I am located it is quicker to get item here from Amazon so I took a deep breath and ordered it. It is so fantastic, I watched a video on how to put it together that Jerry's put out and it was fairly simple to do I had my husband help with one step that requires an extra hand but I did it and it went well and was don in less than 1 1/2 hours. This is a very nice professional easel that has a ton of potential to do all sizes of canvases in many different mediums and even though I was a bit scared it was going to be to big for my home it wasn't, it will fit all my need even though I can not lift it to its full potential I can still paint quit large canvas with out any issues my ceiling are only about 90 inches and this will work and gives me a bit of lea way, now if you got 8ft ceiling it most likely will never cause an issue. The box came and it did of course received some shipping scaring but it appeared to be OK when I got it open was pleasantly surprised to see another box , every thing was nicely wrapped numbered and packed. so if your looking for a all around Easel that can allow you to paint huge canvases, or small ones, this is the one just watch the video on how to assemble and it is a breeze. Looking forward to getting this broke in this week with a new oil painting project a 30 X 40 inch canvas and this is small for this easel even though I ajusted it down for one of my 12X12s with no problem and even a small 6x6 all in inches so with the lay it flat straight up slated and any way you want to set this it is perfect to me. I do not usually leave feed back unless It impresses me a lot Jerry's has over two hundred reviews on this easel here less than 5 at the time I left this one worth the money!!!!!!

I bought this easel because I work on canvases that have a wide cradle. The top part that secures the canvas is not as wide as the bottom so that presents a problem wherein the painting is not secured onto the easel from the top. The hardware that secures the up and down motion of the easel is flimsy at best and not secure which means when one paints the painting can slip down at any moment, not good. The painting will either fall down or fall off, either way it's not worth it.I called JerrysArtarama who sells this easel on Amazon and the customer care person told me I had to deal with Amazon and Amazon doesn't want to deal with it at all since it's after 30 days.Don't buy it.

This is a great product. Pictures don’t do it justice. It’s a beast - which I wanted for large canvases, but had no idea how big and heavy duty it was. It’s on wheels so easy to move despite its weight. It’s a great studio canvas and I love that it easily transforms into a table position.Some instructions when putting it together were unclear. The sliders inside of the adjustable parts are separate pieces. Also, not all the pieces were numbered so I had to look intently at the pictures. Other than that, it’s a wonderful easel for this low of a price!

This easel was a much better quality than anticipated; solid construction, metal hardware, fairly easy assembly (two person job and the instructions could be better, but not too ridiculous), and nice quality wood. When they say "oiled Beech wood", be warned: it smells very strongly of linseed oil. Which, if you're an oil painter, is no big deal but the whole house still smells of linseed oil three days after this was delivered. Converting it from upright to flat is really easy and the wheels lock for stability while working.

This easel is so sturdy and beautifully made that it actually inspires me to paint! It’s exciting to be able to paint large canvases on this beautiful easel!

Overall this is a decent easel. Not the most sturdy or stable, but decent enough. My real problem is with the lack of detailed instructions, in the written manual or video. I'm a mechanical person, put all kinds of furniture together easily. But unless you are intimately familiar with the exact construction of such an easel, the assemble is really a challenge. There were a lot of numbers missing on the pieces when they came, so I had to guess. Several steps in the instructions lack the kind of detail that shows you which part is facing in which direction, and in which direction to place whole parts of the frame when you put it together. I had to take steps apart several times to get it right. Someone really could have given just a little more time and attention to the video and manual to make it user friendly. Also, it was almost impossible to do by myself, so have someone at hand.

I can't imagine a nicer easel. It is very sturdy, elegant looking. I am 100% happy with it, and wonder why one might pay up to $800 for a similar easel from another manufacturer.

Horrible, horrible smell from wood/stain off-gassing. I get nauseous, lightheaded, and get headaches. Easel is in a room with windows wide open and an oscillating fan on high for 11 days. It's only getting worse. I love the easel but am so disappointed because of the smell. Will have to return it. No good if being in the same room with it makes me sick. I have never experienced this before.
