Not at all a good shape for a spoon-rest. Great faux-jadeite color, though.
The spoon must be table sized, rather than cooking or serving sized in order to fit. The design is very deep and the slot for the spoon handle starts too high in the wall. Actually, we think this must have been a spoon/ utensil stacker for buffet service. One may fit about 8 table-sized spoons or forks into the bowl.
