I was skeptical, but after research realized this is responsibly resourced and really just good :)
Ok, so I'm sure many of you jumped on this due to Dr.Oz and I have to admit, so did I. I've already been taking organic non GMO extra virgin coconut oil, and that does wonders for me. I mean Miranda Kerr is a great model to vouche for the benefits of coconut oil.I became very intered in Red Palm Oil, admittedly due to Dr.Oz. I did some research and realized how beneficial this oil really is; there is no other oil with the unique combination of phytonutrients. It's got Vitamin E (with high levels of tocotrienols, that's 40-60 times more potent than the tocopherols form of vitamin E. Mixed carotenes (antioxidants and pro-viamin A) phytosterols, plant squalene and even Co-enzyme Q10! :-) How great is that?I do have to admit, all those great vitamins and minerals and even the documented scientific research sounds and reads great, but tastes awful!! I have to hold my nose, open the jar, take a tblsp. full, take a few sips of water or juice, eat an acai berry chew, then close the jar, and finally I can let go of my nose! Lol, sounds tedious, but like most things worthwhile, it's really worth it. :-)I feel better, look better, and catch alot more attention. People ask you how you get your skin to glow. :-)Now, the reason I choose this particular brand of oil is really important. If you are not aware the demand for this oil has led to heinous ecological atrocities, including the genocide of orangutangs. Luckily there is an organization, RSPO; an international non-profit association that brings together conservation groups and palm oil firms. The RSPO will not certify palm oil grown on land that had been deforested to grow the crop.Okonatur red palm oil is certified by the RSPO, Love it! :-)I wanted to share this info because I feel its important to be aware of the impact of our choices, even just buying some oil. I also love the nutritional content. :-)It may be a hard oil to swallow, but it's just a moment of ewwww! in exchange for looking in the mirror and thinking wow! Totally worth it.

Excellent shipping & packaging, VILE product!!!
Like many, I ordered this product after reading/hearing somewhere that it's a healthy oil. I use a lot of coconut oil, so I thought this would be something worth trying also. I received the product two days after ordering, unbroken and in a jar with a wide mouth to get a spoon into easily.I'm unsure how anybody actually puts this in their body. It smells and tastes like rancid old deep fryer oil. I still thought I would give it a try though. After eating a spoonful, I felt sick for several hours and my stomach hurt. The smell of it now makes my stomach turn and I can't bring myself to give it another try. I've spent 3 years living in third world countries and have eaten many questionable things, but I can't understand how anyone uses this.

It reeks, it stains, but it tastes pretty good
I don't know about the health benefits of Red Palm Oil: it's quite high in saturated fat, after all! On the other hand, Dr Oz is a cardiologist, so unless he's trying to drum up business or has stock in palm oil companies, it's something to consider. It has a high smoke point, so like coconut oil, it doesn't hydrogenate at high temperatures...but my mother-in-law will point out that you should be cooking with low heat anyway, or you destroy the nutrients in the food! The beta carotene that causes red coloring is the same stuff in carrots, and the tocopherols you get from Wheat Germ are way higher than you get from this oil.But it looks like the only natural source of d-tocotrienols are palm products. (Why do the oil, why not just eat the fruit? Or get some extract that doesn't have saturated fat? There are a bunch of supplements available here on Amazon, but I know nothing about them.)On the minus side, it stinks. My 3-year old son will run out of the kitchen if I'm cooking with it screaming that it smells like #2. The red oil will stain just about anything, including my countertop. And it's weird that it's a solid at winter room temperatures... reminds me of Crisco. On the other hand, it tastes pretty good, and I love the fact that it colors my egg whites orange. Since it has so much saturated fat, I do a 2-egg white 1-whole egg omelette. The orange color helps make up for the missing yolks, and makes the eggs look that much more appealing! I also take Nature Made Cholest-Off 240 Caplets (Cholest Off ) before the meal! And this brand claims that they are concious of the horrific environmental issues associated with palm oil. So if you want it, it appears to be a pretty decent choice.
