Q: This says similar to apa102-c, but what are the specs? is it as fast? i'm looking for the features of apa102-c for an ambilight setup

It is not fast as apa102c , this product is clone。 APA102 C is more expensive than sk9822 . If you need sk9822 , we can sell it to you from China . Please contact us support@btf-lighting.com

These things suck up a lot of power when lit for a battery. You could probably run them on a 3000 mAh battery for about 45 minutes for a string of 60. As for wrapping them around PVC pipe, you could provided the pipe's diameter is an inch or more. If you get the ones with the adhesive tape on the back, that should be fine. That being said, the spacing of the LEDs may be weird.

Q: Is there any arduino or esp32 samples that will control this sk9822 strip ?

We don't sell these controllers, so there's no kind of sample. You can look for related teaching videos on YouTube, where there are many such teaching videos for you to learn.

Q: After cutting, is there a coating on the copper pads that needs to be removed before soldering? If so, how best to remove?

no , there is no coating on the copper pads ,because it is IP30 non-waterproof led strip .
