SAMSUNG883 DCT Series SSD 960GB - SATA 2.5” 7mm Interface Internal Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology for Business (MZ-7LH960NE)

Shipped very quickly and the quality is excellent on the product, worked well in replacing an SSD in our data center.

EDIT: I wish to add that both vendors refunded my purchase price.Just be aware that the product description is wrong as described below.I have ordered this a third time with Amazons assurance that it would be the right part.It arrived and I am pleased to say its the correct drive.Hopefully Amazon will approve this review since I did buy it twice. I ordered the Samsung 883 DCT Series SSD 960GB (P/N MZ-7LH960NE). What I received is a Samsung P883 960GB SSD (P/N MZ7LH960HAJR). The 883 DCT is a 2019 part with better wear leveling, power loss tolerance, and a 5-year guarantee. and the P883 is a completely different drive from 2016 with only a 3-year warranty. I reordered after getting and returning the wrong drive and got the same P883 drive from the other vendor.

So I picked to pay a little extra buy buying it from Amazon and not one of the other vendors, but apparently that doesn't matter. This came as the others said. There is no screws and the screw holes are smaller than what my system uses for a 2.5" drive. It actually has a sticker on it "NOT FOR RESALE". So once I am able to find screws to mount this, will see how it goes but not good. Going to assume there will be no warranty on this either as the others say since it's NOT FOR RESALE".Edit: I entered my serial numbers on Samsung’s site and it did register. So why other couple others said to the contrary is beyond me. Took a half hour to find the right screws. A lot were close but took a long time to find ones that easily screwed into the openings. Once I did though drive working great. Would buy more but don’t think I have enough screws to accommodate especially since the screws they come with the drive sled doesn’t fit and afraid to order any and be wrong.

These are good SSDs for general-purpose uses. They should even fit in laptops, as they are no bigger than regular 2.5" hard disks or SSDs (unlike some enterprise SSDs, which are thicker). So far, they have been perfectly reliable for me (I have six of them in use) and I recommend them.

As soon as I installed Linux on this thing, it ran until I had everything set up and then the data was corrupted. Unable to do a repair as the disk had bad blocks. Did a complete reinstall and the same process happened again.So much for Samsung's "reliability" claim for their enterprise drives.

This SSD is installed as part of a software defined storage array and it works fine for that purpose.

Samsung has lazy software engineer. It's hard to monitor the TBW and health of SSD with the outdated tool.

I am using this drive to record new over-the-air TV broadcasts on my home theater PC, and for pausing live TV. I can record six shows at once, with no hiccups. This is not generally considered a good use for SSDs, because SSDs wear out with use; however, the TBW rating for this drive is so very high that, with my current usage patterns, it should last decades.
