Very good price for average caviar
For large quantity canned roe, this is excellent. There are way worse quality products on the market that cost way more. If you are comparing this to ikura sushi-level roe, you will be disappointed, of course - it is not that and not meant to be that. The eggs are softer and saltier in this case, as is common and traditional for this style roe. But they are intact and still have a good pop to them, which is a sign of good product. As someone who grew up in the post-Soviet era with salmon roe frequently on the table for celebratory occasions, this is certainly good enough to be a treat. You can still use it for your poke bowl, just be prepared for something really salty, and maybe cut back on the soy sauce. It is more commonly enjoyed on a buttered bit of crusty bread, or on a crepe or a blini with some sour cream. My husband and I absolutely went ham on this can and will buy again next time we need a treat. We recommend English muffins as a potential vehicle to get it to your taste buds. And good quality unsalted or low salt butter. Because it is so salty, it is also not going to spoil as fast as some people on here think ("eat within four days" or whatever). Just put it in a glass or a crock, or a mason jar on the coldest shelf of your fridge and eat within 2 weeks.

I love Salmon Roe
There have been many reviews regarding this product and seller. I found some of the reviews to be questionable and went, with hope, for the purchase. Please note that my purchase is Amazon Verified.I love Salmon Roe. I know the high-end and have been to the low. This 1 pound (!) product is delivered in a very nice 'tin', with a easy pull-top lid and plastic cover-lid, for storing after opening. I suggest opening it, and then moving the Roe to a chilled glass jar for enjoying at your leisure. The delivery (mine from Washington, the state) was perfect. It was marked as perishable, and included tracking via FedEx. It arrived with the ice-pack, still fully frozen, in a small cooler, and the roe can was icy cold.Quality Salmon Roe fans know that a crisp fresh Roe costs about 80-100 bucks per 6-8oz tin. This product is a full pound of Roe (delivery cost included!) for a total of 48 dollars (as of this review). So compare. The taste of this product is excellent. It's not too fishy, and not too salty. It's a very clean, well-rounded Roe experience. The Roe is perfect with cream cheese and capers (I just did it), or scrambled with eggs, or in a sushi roll. In fact, the only difference between this Roe and high-quality restaurant Roe is texture. This comes in a can, folks. It's jammed packed with delicious Roe BUT it does get a bit smooshed. Not badly smooshed but enough that it's not on-its-own presentation quality at a party. BUT in any dish you're serving to guests, where the Roe is part of the whole, your guests will never know the difference between high-end and the flavor of this product. And for enjoying at home, where you can, without guilt, take as much as you want, this Roe is an extreme bargain.Summing up: Delivery perfect. Product a 10 on taste, a 5 on texture. Perfect for you anytime, or in guest-recipes that mask the texture.Cheers!

Check around your local ethnic groceries first.
This caviar is very salty, and not like the kind you find in sushi restaurants. The eggs are small and not plump and large like it's supposed to be, but kind of shrunken and marinating in the broken eggs liquid. I didn't expect much though, after all it's from a can. It tastes pretty fresh, but just not visually appealing. Very salty so you need to drain before enjoying. The can comes with a plastic seal cover so after you open the metal top, you can still seal it. It keeps longer that way, though it's probably a good idea to transfer it to another container. For the price I can't complain, it arrives really quick with a pack of ice (2 days for me). However, if you are a salmon roe fanatic like me, look around your area and see if you can find an Eastern European market. They will usually have fresher salmon roe, sometimes with a better price. I have found a 1kg plastic tray of much fresher and plumper salmon roe in a Russian market for $46 (the same 1kg tray is listed at $130 here on Amazon). So see if they have it. Alternatively, go to an Asian market and look for Ikura. These will be sold in the sushi section, and though the price is not as competitive for the amount you get, it is usually fresh and tastes the same. This can is a great price but don't expect too much. Check around your local ethnic groceries first.
