Antique Brass Nautical Sextant Maritime Astrolabe Marine for Office & Gifitng Item Rustic Vintage Home Decor Gifts

This is a really nice replica of an astrolabe, it has a nice heft to it, all the parts move and it would probably actually work if I knew how (or needed to) use it sailing. I had previously purchased a smaller version from another vendor but I recommend this one for a nice decoration in a nautical or marine theme.

I really like this device I spent a couple hours polishing the brass to bring it up to a nice finish. I didn't polish everything because I wanted to leave some of the original patina. Everything works and I can't wait till I'm able to learn more about how to use it. I saw a review or somebody complained about the thing being all broken and didn't work I don't know about that mine had some stiff spots a tiny drop of oil in a lot of polishing and it's ready to go I'm very happy with my purchase.

This is a cool little thing. But it was’t the best quality. There were little flaws. Some of the metal was bent. The legs were bent and wobbly.

wonderful incentive gift for my 11 year old son to stay on track with remote learning. gave 4 star due to machine screws not big enough to hold a piece in place.

Really nice little piece. Well built with moving parts. Appears to be a working sextant but I'm not sure of the accuracy. Makes me want to quit my job, steal a sloop, and terrorize the open seas with my motley crew of murderers and theives.

This thing is so intricate and beautiful I cant believe it was so inexpensive. Sits on my shelf with other navigation related items and looks awesome.

I realize this thing is a desk toy and not the real sextant, but the telescope wasn’t even pointed at the mirror - you couldn’t even look through the thing.
