Great Little Key Lock
I’m tired of having to give my garage code out to anyone that has to get into my house when I’m away then have to go through the hassle of changing it over and over again. So I was looking for a small hide a key that I could put in a discreet location.I had found a very nice and sturdy electric one with a light on it but it was too big for the little space that I had. After much searching I came across this small one which can hold two keys, small or medium, but nothing more. When it arrived I studied it trying to figure out how to set the codes and struggled a bit until I looked up a video on YouTube. Once seeing it, it was pretty easy. The trick is being able to see the very faint arrows on the back of the numbers, if you wear cheaters you’re gonna wanna get them out. Once the code was set I stuck my two keys in and attached the top of my lock to the base which was easily installed to the door frame. The lock is extremely sturdy and waterproof.Despite the initial confusion and frustration of learning how to set the lock code, which now takes me seconds, it is a great lock and great value for the price!

Very well made and effective
After locking ourselves out of the house for the second time in a month, we decided to put a spare key outside. This box is reasonably strong and small enough to be placed in an unobtrusive location. We opted for the rubber cover housing for the added weather protection which also helps conceal the KeySafe. We are very well pleased with this product.

Strong and sturdy product
We were having work done on a home we owned in another city. Naturally, the people who do the work want access to the home during the times we were not able to get there. This was holding up getting the work done, as well as affecting my day job.I bought this key vault so I can store some keys in there and give access to the people. Since the house is in a big city, and the house is empty, I was concerned about the vault, and whether it was strong enough to prevent someone from breaking it and getting access to the home. The key vault was heavy and felt sturdy overall. To open the key vault, push the pin combination and slide the open lever down. Note that once you open the key vault door, in order to put the door back on, you have to punch the combination again, push the open button down and hold it, and then slide the door back in. Once it is in, release the open lever and the door should be secure. For good measure, slide the Clear lever below. There are 10 pins, each corresponding to a number from 0 to 9. Setting the combination is easy - all you have to do is to rotate the screws corresponding to the desired number pin 180 degrees (i.e. flip the arrow direction to the "on" position) using the plastic thingy on the key vault. You can change the combination at any time by doing this. You can set the combination to any number you want, but it doesn't make sense to set the combination to 1234567890, as someone can simply try that. Better to do a 5 or 6 number combination in order to increase the number of variations that is not easily guessable.Note that each number can only be used once in the combination. For example, you can do 1234, but you cannot do 1134. A 1134 combination is essentially the same as a 134 combination code. The vault comes with 4 screws for attaching it to the wall. The screws are mounted from the inside. I replaced the stock screws with 4 - 2 inch long screws. The longer screws provide more security and go deeper into the underlying wood behind the wall.. this gives a bit more holding power, and if someone wants to steal the vault, they are going to have to work extra hard for it. I finished the install by caulking around the edges of the vault to the wall to keep out any potential moisture between the vault and the wall. All in all, the vault was sturdy, and the install was easy. It took me about 20 minutes to install, with a quarter of that time hunting in my pile of bolts for longer screws.

How many possible combinations there are isn't nearly as important as the fact that there IS a code to open the box
Here's why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. First off, this key box does it's job well. It will hold your keys and it does require a combination of numbers to pressed before it will open. It has a solid build that feels like it will last a long time and also feels like it would hold up to any kind of smashing or sawing for quite a while. I think it would take a LOT of work to break this thing open. Now the reason I didn't give it five stars is because it doesn't really have a ton of different combinations to choose from. You can set your code to be any length of numbers. So I could set it to open when I push "7", or I could set it to open when I've pushed 1,2,3,5,6,8, and 0. Or if you wanted to you could set it so you have to push all 10 numbers to open it (not really a good idea). So by now you're probably thinking dang that sounds like it adds up to a crap load of different combinations. Well it doesn't because of two things. You can't repeat a number, and it doesn't matter what order the numbers are pushed in. If my code is 8497, I could push 4987, 9784, 8974, etc. and the lock will open. So to save you the math, there are 1023 possible combinations (I won't bother explaining why that is in this review). Anyone who says differently is wrong, the product description even says "over 1000" which implies it is just a little over 1000. Anyway, the way to set the combination is simple. On the back of the plate there is one screw for each number. Twisting the screw 180 degrees sets that number to be part of the code. So if I want my code to contain the numbers 1257 (remember you can't repeat and the order doesn't matter) then I would simply turn all the screws behind those numbers. If you wan't something easier to remember you can go shorter, if you want the length that has the most possible combinations that would be a length of 5 numbers. Add up the list I made if you want, it's 1023 (see below. I did not count having zero numbers in the code). But don't be scared away when you see how few combinations are possible for some lengths. Remember a potential thief has no idea how long the code is, so he/she would still have 1023 possible combinations to guess from. No one is going to sit there and figure out all the possibilities and then take the time to try them all. And keep in mind that if someone really wants to break into your house and is prepared ahead of time to do so, this isn't going to stop them. This key box is to keep some loser from trying to find the key that everyone hides under a rock or hangs under the deck or whatever. Now you can put that key in a lock box. 4 stars for build quality and the fact that it does what is says it does.Length Number of Possible combinations 1 10 2 45 3 120 4 210 5 252 6 210 7 120 8 45 9 10 10 1

The real deal.
This is a well built device. There are a lot of cheap versions of this on the market. This one, although no device is foolproof, is well built and not easily overcome. We have had one on an outdoor bar for several years and it has stood the test of time and outdoor Tennessee/Georgia weather. If you need a keybox to allow for emergency access, this is the one to get.
