Makes docking a snap.
Easy to loop over a dock piling and hold the boat against the wind while docking or departing. Typically we extend it through the salon window to safely grab a piling.Eliminates confusion among guest “crew mates”, adds to overall safety and reduces potential damage to the boat or its neighbors.Worth it!

Extending The Rod
The product looks nice and will be helpful when docking. That said, it is very difficult to unlock the rod from an extended position; so far I have been unable to unlock the rod.

Must Have Boating Accessory
I have to dock in a fast-moving current. Coming in, especially when there is a breeze, is like a plane landing on a carrier with the pilot having to catch the wire and get into some serious trouble if he or she misses it. Once I commit to approaching the dock, a miscalculation means either colliding with the concrete ramp or shooting off into shallow water. There is only one chance to catch a cleat. A traditional boat hook is simply not designed to catch a cleat from a moving boat. I pondered "inventing" something like the loop but first I searched and found The Boat Loop. Try it and you won't know how you boated without it. Highly recommend!

Works as Advertised
We bought this because of wife's medical conditions. Since buying this product docking our boat has been easier with less anxiety. It is simple to use and sores fairly easily, is lightweight yet strong. I definitely would recommend this product.

Great Product, Reliable Company.
A. The boat loop is a great tool. We have been boating for years, and I had never thought about using a boat hook for anything more than snagging a mooring line or something that had fallen over board. We were going through a lock and I noticed another boat using a boat hook to snag lines on the sides to smooth their docking process and remain in place as the water was rising. It made me think I was missing a big opportunity to make our docking life easier as most of our docking is done with my wife standing at the stern. This works great, but if I fail to get the stern to swing just right it can get difficult and precarious fast. I was lucky to run across the boat loop. It is so much more than your standard boat hook. The loop and post allows you to push, pull snag, or loop anything from lines, docks, cleats, or walls. If there is a feature on a dock, you can probably snag it with The Boat Loop.On top of that RS Marine has always shipped quickly and the product is delivered as promised. That's right, I've dealt with them multiple times, not because anything broke, but because the boat loop is handy enough that I have them on different boats.

Must need tool for challenging boat parking
This tool is great if you are trying to dock in adverse conditions, the loop lets you grab cleats, but it also has a hook to catch or push off from docks or boats. It also floats in case you drop it. This has been super helpful for me to dock when it is windy.

Throw your Boat Hooks over the deck!
I initially purchased my Boat Loop MT3-6 because I was tired of wasting time attempting to lasso the cleats at the dock. The loop makes it so easy now I'm not sure how I functioned without previously.Since my purchase, I have found numerous other uses for the device. The rubber plug at the front is great for pushing off when you get too close to the dock and the dual hooks really help out at the cove when we're rafting the boats together. I just hook the line in the loop, extend the pole, and hand it to the other boat. It's Brilliant! One side note there is a quick lock function that allows you to extend and lock the pole in place in seconds. I was under the assumption that you had to unscrew the nut, extend it, then lock the nut in place. You can still do it this way, but its much faster to just twist the lock into place!I loved the device so much I purchased another (the Long MT4-8) for my boat and one for my dad for this upcoming fathers day. IMO, this is one of the best new boating devices I've seen this year.

Very helpful boating accessory
I had one. I loved it. So I bought another. We dock at a river marina where the current can sometimes make it a chore to dock our pontoon boat. Now we have two. When docking, someone up front uses the longer one to grab the forward cleat and pull us up and in while I (or someone else in the rear) use the shorter one to grab the rear cleat and pull us tight to the dock until we can tie up. The ONLY complaint I have is that while the whole thing floats, the looped part does not. We had an incident where someone thought she was loosening so that she could extend the pole, but she was actually undoing the looped end from the pole. And it fell in the water never to be seen again. That's user error for sure, but it would be a great feature if that could also float in case you have something like that happen.
