Great as a siren
I bought this on October 30, 2019. The batteries were down to 15% today (Oct 11, 2020) and I came here to see if it required alkaline or lithium batteries, so I figured might as well give a review. I should note that I use this strictly as a siren, and for its passive monitoring of temperature and humidity levels. That said, I have manually tested it to ensure the siren goes off maybe 5 or 6 times. I have had the siren go off on its own as it should have by smartthings routines a couple of times. I would say that combined siren time probably less than 15 minutes over the past year, but I think it samples the temp/humidity every 1 or 5 minutes. The siren is pretty loud, it scares the crap out of my dogs and was loud enough to wake me up in the middle of the night. House is approx 2300 square foot split level with a basement, siren was located in the lowest stairwell going to basement and my bedroom is top floor. I definitely am satisfied with this unit and would purchase again. I think that for something like this they should give you an option to plug it into the wall but also have a battery backup. Lastly, I recall pairing the device to be somewhat of a pain, having to exclude it in z-wave and connect it a couple of times - however I was new to these devices back then and it might have just been my inexperience. Note - alkaline batteries are better for long term devices like this that are always on and periodically connecting to the hub. Lithium batteries are better for devices that use lots of power for short term - like flashlights.

Ensure you understand what is necessary for this to work great with SmartThings
I am pleased with the Zooz Z-Wave Plus S2 MultiSiren. I wanted something was more than just a siren that I could have custom sounds with. I wanted to set it so that when my Zooz Z-Wave Plus Outdoor Motion Sensor S2 detected motion I could have a custom sound like a door bell sound during the day and a quieter sound at night when motion was detected our my car port and front door. You do need to be fairly tech and PC savvy for this device as you need to be able to install the custom SmartThings handler which the Zooz support instructions are good and easy to follow.I basically removed all of the preinstalled Zooz wav audio files and created my own custom wav files. For this you do need to be PC and tech savvy enough to locate the necessary software to create you own custom audio files. If you can do this then I think you will like this product.I have reminder sounds that play at different times like 30 minutes before time to leave for work, when there is motion, and when SmartThings changes modes. If you are SmartThings, tech, and PC savvy then I think you will like having it part of you SmartThings setup.I have only had it installed just over a month but so far the battery level shows 100%.

Custom Audio File Functionality is great
I am using this device with a Vera Edge controller. Pairing was very straightforward and the siren (which is VERY loud), temperature and humidity sensors were recognized right away. Vera does not directly support the audio/voice alerts; however, there is a work around explained on Zooz's site which basically involves some copy and pasting of code. A little extra work to set up, but the functionality is great! It comes pre-loaded with several useful voice recordings, but the real benefit was being able to load in my own custom files using a free online text to speech service. I set up scenes to announce some more critical alerts where emails alone wouldn't cut it, like "Sump Pump High Water Alarm Activated" and "Smoke Detected in 'x' room".Hopefully this devices get more native support in a future update to Vera, but for now the work-around is straight forward enough and not something I need to tinker with too often. As another reviewer noted, it is a Mini USB connection to upload audio files which is pretty dated; however, a cable was included with unit - now if I can only remember where I put it...It comes with several double side foam mounting pads as well as screws so you can pick your poison.

Well supported product and packed with features
Got this primarily for the chime feature and am happy with it so far. I had been looking for chime solutions with ST and just couldn't find anything good until I ran across this in the ST forums. Although I did use the custom device handler, it was incredibly easy to set up and documentation was detailed enough to get through the setup. There is a one to 2 second delay between the sensor triggers and the sound but it does what's needed. I haven't tried adding custom sounds but will look into it later. Will report back on battery life and how well it holds up to long-term use.4 months later: Battery still going strong, it had stopped chiming one day but turns out one of my sensors was out of whack so it's been as reliable as first day. Great product!

Smartthings DHT needs updating
Everything works fine except that the Device Handler (currently 1.6) will only play the first sound listed regardless of which sound is set at the default for Beep in the settings. You can use Smartthings Automations or Webcore to select a different sound though.

Decent siren/speaker
It works as advertised. I just wish it was a bit faster. The hub (Hubitat) sends the commands instantly but there is a delay at the siren before it makes the sound. The siren is only 10 feet from the hub.

Loud
Very loud siren, perfect for alarms. They only downsides are the use of C batteries and the difficulty getting other sounds to play. I will only use it as an alarm siren, so for my needs it works well.

Zooz great Company, great support, great product
It’s staggers the imagination that all these years of Z wave and associated products that there’s basically zero charms/alarms. And the ones out there have a limited custom ability. Now we have a choice. YOU DO HAVE to install an updated event handler. What’s great is that zooz sports their products and keeps updating. Also if you have a question about the product they generally respond within an hour after messaging them. I have full confidence in this company. I will update as chime performs

Quiet and tinny sound
I'm a fan of Zooz products, especially their ZEN16 relay, so I pulled the trigger on the Multisiren, to use for both siren and doorbell functions (possibly other commands). It paired quickly and painlessly to my Hubitat, which was nice - the inclusion process for Z-wave devices can sometimes be finicky. Device was automatically set with the correct driver....great!On to testing it out! I set the volume to 100 and tried out the first siren sound. It was disappointingly weak. Tried the various doorbell chimes - they were really tinny sounding, and the Zooz was clearly struggling with the higher tones (lots of crackling from the speaker). Not sure why they would choose tones that the speaker clearly wouldn't be able to handle. In terms of volume, it was barely adequate; don't rely on hearing it from a different floor in your house. My wife just laughed when she heard it. Honestly, the sound quality of the default doorbell chime from my Alexa-enabled Ecobee thermostat is WAY better (albeit even quieter than the Zooz), so that's a pretty sad state of affairs. In any case, calling this one a fail; there's no reason to have sound this poor. It's a small speaker, but it's just not adequate for it's intended purpose. Packaged up and returned the same day I bought it.
