I love the 10 minutes a day books
I love the 10 minutes a day books and have them for Spanish, Japanese, and Hebrew. These books allow you to absorb the language quickly. I'm not embarrassed to say, I keep these books in the bathroom for my "10 minutes a day". I can now speak, read and write Hebrew fluently and I've absorbed Spanish reading, writing and speaking very quickly, though Japanese is a bit more difficult, I know I will at least pick up on speaking fairly quickly.

Best Series Available
This is probably the best language series I have read. I stumbled upon French in 10 minutes a day a while back and learned a bit of it for fun. However, I knew that Spanish was probably the better and more useful language in my current situation so I decided to try and pick it up. At that time I also happened to have a spanish book (Learn Spanish the Fast and Fun Way) and by its own right it isn't a bad book. However, I kept reverting to the French book because it was in a better format and easier for me to learn.Enter Amazon. To my great excitement, the book AND CD(I didn't have it for the French book)was available for Spanish in the same format! I bought it for around $20 and it came pretty quick. This series just seems to have a special formula for teaching, and it works very well for me. Im considering a few other books in the series for future reference. 5 stars!!!!!

The book is a good reinforcement of what I am learning online.
The photo is page two of the book. It says "If you can say this, you can learn to speak Spanish." I sent this picture to friends I have in Mexico and Colombia because they both know I love wine, and they both said it's wrong. In Latin America you order a cup of wine (una taza). So the book was written by someone in the US who doesn't know the regional differences of Spanish. And the publisher is based in California so they should know Spanish as it is spoken in Mexico since they are so close.Maybe the rest of the book won't teach me things that are wrong.

Good for my schedule.
I have tried lots of ways to learn another language. This is the best I've seen for my "life enrichment" effort. This one didn't scare me away by starting with conjugation of 2000 verbs. I really think the daily minutes are the key...daily for 10 minutes works for my schedule. Then I wanted to add a little Spanish language TV to begin to catch the "words" at conversational speed. There is a link for the on-line component in my book (did not get one with the disc) that is very helpful for vocabulary building and pronunciation. The power of the book is that it teaches the words and phrases most often used by travelers like me. Teaches the important verbs and their uses and should help me converse in the present tense by asking questions. It makes me curious as to how much I can learn.

Spanish in 10 minutes a day
I used this book for a quick beginner course in Spanish. It was well-written and easy to use. I liked the sticky labels that came with the book. I didn't stick them on objects throughout my home, but I did make flashcards out of them by sticking them on card stock. The CD-Rom was okay, especially if you are learning at home on your own and you need to hear words correctly pronounced. I would have like the CD-Rom to cover more than it did. It was very short with colors, numbers, and just a few other things covered in book. The book does cover the basics very well and by shopping vendors on Amazon.com, I got the lowest price I could.

Wonderful Way for Beginners to Learn Spanish!
This is a great book/workbook for beginning Spanish students. It is the textbook being used at a class I am taking at Edmonds Community College in Edmonds, WA through their continuing education program. It starts out with the basics such as pronunciation, basic grammar, greetings, days of the week, the seasons, etc. There are lots of pictures, exercises, and puzzles making learning Spanish fun and easy. This edition also includes a CD so you can hear Spanish being spoken so you can practice speaking yourself. I have bought many books over the years to learn Spanish on my own and this is, by far, the best book I have ever found. I am learning so much and really enjoying it. I highly recommend this book.

Great teaching tool
This is a great book to use. My wife first used it in a Spanish short course she took. We both used it before we traveled to Mexico. It was really helpful for many kinds of practical speaking situations, banking, going to market or grocery store and just general conversation. I just recently ordered the book for 5 students who are taking an introductory Spanish course at school. They basically work at their own pace, but it really keeps them engaged.

A good introduction to Spanish
Having tried and struggled with various different self learning language courses I have to share how pleased I am with this product. I have already bored all my friends and family with the wonders of this book. As a basic introduction which builds up core vocabulary and grammar tools this book is a must. Although it is laid out as a pre-holiday language course it certainly goes way beyond learning basic phrases and scripts. I most like the colourful layout and challenges that pop up throughout the book. You can measure your progression as you go and see how the elements you have already learned start to join up. I found the flash cards and stickers to be more than mere gimmicks. The only thing I would say in criticism is that the book sometimes skips over elements that might require a little more time to sink in. Used in conjunction with other tools such as language CD's to hone pronunciation I have found this product to be very good and most definitely value for money.

Book Review
For an absolute beginner in Spanish -like me - this book is fun. It is in colour (very important) and is designed so that you can go at your own pace. It has stickers so that you can label everything in your house with Spanish names! I recommend the whole series of books ...having also got a Russian one a few years ago. It comes with a fun CD ROM too.
