It seems their warranty is useless and they find some idiotic excuse to not send ...
Mine quit after 6 months, it was in an unrecoverable write protect mode. I send it in for warranty and Transcend claims it was received damaged. It had only been in my phone and it was returned in the same plastic box I received it in. It seems their warranty is useless and they find some idiotic excuse to not send a replacement.

Buy something else; broke after 4 months; can't format; can't write; can't use.
5/14 - Buyer beware! My Micro SD card was useless after 4 months. After RMA back to Transcend, they said it wasn't covered under warranty because of physical damage. There was no damage to the card when I sent it in. If you scan through several of the reviews on Amazon, this appears to be how the company avoids warranties. I've read several reviews which had the same RMA response from Transcend. I'm not buying from this company again. Luckily it's <$10 out of pocket. Good bye.--------------After 4 months, can't write or format the micro SD card; it's now useless. I tried to format the card and it says the micro SD card is write protected and locked. But there's no physical switch on this little card???? I can read the pictures off the card but can't use it anymore. I guess you get what you pay for.I used it on my Android phone to store pictures. All of a sudden, it started not allowing me to store my photos.

Fulfills Class 10 Rating
I tested this device to make sure the entire memory existed (not a fake card) and to check the speeds. With my laptop's built in SD card reader I got the following results:Writing speed: 14.1 MByte/sReading speed: 50.8 MByte/sClass 10 mandates that the minimum read/write speed must be 10MB/s, this card exceeds that specification.

Worked Great Until it Failed Almost Two Years to the Day Later
This was a great little MicroSDHC card that I used in my smartphone for several years to store music. Two years and three days from the date I purchased the card, it failed. My phone would not recognize a file system on it, it would not re-format it, and my PC did not even detect that a device was plugged in to attempt any sort of data recovery. It was great while it lasted, but I guess there were some signs that it was beginning to fail. Some music stuttered during the last few weeks it worked, and once the device was pushed close to its capacity limits, some music would not even play. This MicroSDHC card served me well, but I expected it to last longer, hence the knock down one star in the rating.

A bad trend for Transcend
I've purchased a few Transcend cards due to them being a great value (or so I thought). Over a period of time, they have all died (from ~4 months to 5 years). I don't know how long it took the latest one I have to die since it's been sitting in an Android tablet for years. There's been minimal wear and the only thing I've used them in is in Android phones/tablets. In every case, the cards became "locked" somehow and are no longer writable.I tried removing the card(s) from the devices for use/formatting in the PC and they are definitely locked and cannot be written to. This hasn't happened to any other brand I've used, among them Samsung and Sandisk. They can still be read, although how much can be read, I'm not sure.I've read horror stories about their warranty so I'm not even going to try because I'm not spending money to send the cards away with no guarantee of replacement. I'm writing just so that, you know, buyer beware.

My FIRST bad Transcend SD card ever.
Started copy a batch of 32G worth of files onto it and as soon as I got somewhere around 6GB copied it started throwing IO errors. When I went to format it to start over it only read as 5.91 GB, I was going to let that go and chalk it up as a faked SD card, but then it wouldn't even format., I've had this for months but only just tried to use it. It was stored in suitable conditions, so it is apparently just a bad sd card. unfortunately i guess the fault is mine for not testing it right away. Honestly Transcend is the only brand of MicroSD that i use, because they have never failed me. This is the first time I've had a bad card.

Great for the A118 dash cam and inexpensive
Transcend is a budget brand and so far has been very good to me in my experience. I use this in my Spy Tec A118-C Capacitor Edition Full 1080P HD Video Car Dashboard Camera - No Internal Battery | Novatek NT96650 Chipset + Aptina AR0330 Lens| 170 Degree Super Wide Angle 6G Lens | B40 G-Sensor and it works beautifully. The camera will only reliably use up to 32GB cards, and this card fits that bill perfectly. I bought 2 of these microSD cards and swap them out if I want to pull footage off the cameras. I record in 1080p for about 10-12 hours a week on average. Wherever I go, it records video on to this card, and I've never once had a corrupt batch of videos out of about a thousand hours of use.

Weak on writes.
This memory preformed well in my phone and my car camera but these do not push the limits of the write operations. I ran the memories through three different benchmarking programs and have come to the conclusion that this memory card is weak in the write operation and especially the random write operations. Because the benchmark speeds vary greatly depending on the CPU, motherboard, USB and card reader, I am only going to compare against another memory of the same size with the same setup.I compared this memory against the Samsung EVO Micro SDHC. What I found was the Transcend was about a quarter the speed of the EVO on the larger random writes. On the 'MyDiskBenchmark' the block writes were very inconsistent and ranged from about 3MB/s to about 10 MB/s but they were inconsistent from run to run as well as between the larger size blocks. This inconsistent behavior was not present in the EVO memory and indicate an issue with Transcend memory. Please see my 3 customer images with the six benchmarks for reference. The read speeds are similar between the Transcend and the Samsung EVO and I do not have an issue with the reads. My setup uses a ASUS Z87-A motherboard, [email protected], USB3.0, Transend TS-RDF2 SD reader.Overall I recommend the Samsung EVO over the Transcend premium 300x. I have not tested other memories yet.

Lucky to get 3 stars...
Performed well and I had no complaints up to the point it went into a read only state and exhibited random but differing upon each run read errors, this was after only three years of light use. Memory cards should last five years and longer under normal use and, touch wood, I've not had any problems with the other memory cards I own.Now going into a red only state (seems to be occurring more often nowadays apparently) is good in terms of being able to get a lot of your data off the card onto some other storage but not great if you want to get a replacement under warranty, let me explain...I contacted Transcend and they would only issue a replacement after receiving the complete faulty memory card and having tested it (company policy apparently). Now I don't know about you but I value my personal data, especially sensitive things like account usernames and passwords etcetera which, given the fault, I was unable to erase from the memory card. I also know that three years ago SanDisk were advising those with concerns to photograph the card alongside a current newspaper, destroy the card, photograph the card again alongside the newspaper and then return the pieces of memory card and photos to them and they would issue a replacement. This method assures the manufacturer a faulty memory card was destroyed (I mean what idiot would destroy a working memory card just to get another working memory card!) and also assures the owner that their data is protected.Given Transcend's company policy I was effectively left without ANY warranty and a useless memory card.So in summary I would give it 5 stars before the failure, 1 star after the failure because of finding that effectively there was no warranty and a generous 3 star overall mainly because when the card failed most of the data was still readable and able to be recovered.

Poor Quality, Poor Customer Service, Worthless Warranty
Be aware if buying @transcenduk products. Firstly, they are poor quality. We were seduced by the "lifetime warranty" on our memory cards - but two have failed now with the same fault - data cannot be wiped. A quick Google confirms this to be a common issue with Transcend cards. Then secondly, the aforementioned warranty won't be honoured unless you're prepared to give access to all your data in the event that memory can't be erased. Your card and all data stuck on it will be sent to Taiwan. Customer Service don't seem to think there's anything unreasonable in this. Were unconcerned, unapologetic and unhelpful. Will not offer any solutions for wiping the data in a manner acceptable to them, or accept if damaged to protect data - we even offered to video the destruction as proof.Poor quality products, poor service. I'll be going back to SanDisk - have never once had one of their products fail.

Good memory chip, easily fast enough for basic tablets, phones and cameras
This 64GB class 10 micro SDXC x400 chip from Transcend is ideal for the normal tablets and phones which can use the high data transfer speeds, and are always short of storage for all those pictures and Apps. For something faster however, buy an SDXC with Extreme speed ratings. It also works well with most of the modern miniature cameras such as the Go-Pro 3 or a Mobius .Earlier devices might not be able to benefit from the XC interface speed so it might be worth checking to make sure what compatibility the device has. Earlier versions of Windows might also have a problem because the chip is supplied with exFAT formatting for about 59GB actual space, but it can be reformatted to NTFS etc if required. See the SDXC Wiki entry for more detail. When handling the chips we are very careful to avoid zapping them with static (ESD), and always keep the unplugged chip in a protective case like the one it was originally supplied in. (We have more SDHC/XC cases than loose chips.)Each of our set of four came with an adaptor for the normal size, but we have not used the adaptors except during speed testing in the PC. H2TestW indicated that the slowest write speed was 28.3MB/s and the slowest read speed was 60.8MB/s. The chips have a capacity of 63,953,698,816 bytes less 348KB for the exFAT formatting, giving a usable 63,953,305,600 bytes or 59.5GB. Go-Pro 3Mobius

After just over 1 year of use I now have 2 perfectly good READ ONLY micro SD cards - NOT happy!
Had 2 of these cards failing in the same way after just over 1 year of use: they simple became read-only. One was in use on a Transcend dash cam and the other on a Android mobile phone. The mobile phone one made the phone crash - as soon as I took the card out the phone was back to normal. Card is readable on a PC but can't format or delete data. The dash cam one was only noticed as I wanted to see some footage but all that was on the card was over 2 months old - the camera never complained that the card wasn't writeable (which doesn't bode well for the camera - it should complain of the fact).I will now contact Transcend for a refund / replacement (after reading other reviews I would pretty much prefer a refund - can't trust these cards on a Transcend dash cam).

Avoid these cards at all costs.
I'm writing this review after buying the card in 2015, it is now 2018 and the card has failed on me. 64gb card, couldn't erase or write on the card, Transcend far from helpful. Waste of time. avoid at all cost, I've used Samsung and SanDisk before and not 1 has failed on me.Wanted me to hand over the card inc all the data stuck on the card to be sent to far east, I DON'T THINK SO. Wouldn't offer any other solution.
