Awesome Scope
I bought this scope because it is high quality, reasonably priced, and made in AMERICA. Shipping was fast. I haven't mounted it yet so I can't attest to its durablity, but with the Redfield warranty I am not concerned. Looking through the scope, the glass is extremely clear. I can read a license plate at about 300 yards with ease using the 12X magnification. The reticle is fine and very easy to use. Overall it is an excellent scope and I will buy another when the time comes.

great scope at twice the price
I'm a long time Leupold user and have had years of use from their products, never had one fail me. I never owned a Redfield before Leupold bought them. I picked up the 4-12x40 for a CZ 455 for long range bullseye matches and have been extremely happy with my purchase. Once I found out that Leupold was making a scope under the Redfield name I started looking at the many reviews of the product line online. I didn't find a single poor review so I purchased one to see for myself. The scope is excellent and everything said about them I've found to be true. Very well made, the optics are excellent and compare to scopes costing twice as much. I'm purchasing another one for a Ruger American 243, this scope matches the price point for that rifle extremely well and will give me a very tough and reliable scope/rifle for the up coming season as well as for coyote'sSide by side with a Leupold Vari-X III, mine, it's hard to see a difference in the optics or clarity. The Redfield appears superior to Nikon, also mine, at the same price point and greatly superior to Bushnell, Simmons, which I don't own but have looked at numerous times for comparison purposes. If they keep this level of quality and value I'll be a "Redfield guy" for years to come.

quality an issue
The scope is bright and clear but the windage adjustment knob clicks are not as precise as the elevation knob. While the elevation clicks seem crisp and precise, the windage clicks are barely noticeable and you really have to pay attention to the movement to make sure you are moving the knob the required amount of clicks.

Would not recommend.
Bought this scope in 2014 and have just now in 2017 got the chance to use it, and it was certainly not worth the wait.I was getting crazy wondering groups with it on my Armalite AR10, so I changed over to a Leupold VX-2 that I had and started getting sub moa groups that stayed in place. Inspecting the Redfield I noticed that both the windage and elevation knobs had play in them, also the clicks were not always noticeable when adjusting either knob.Anyway, I hope no one is experiencing this with Redfield's in 2017. I have an older Redfield Revenge scope that works fine, so maybe this was just a bad one. I will be sending it back to Redfield because it is unusable as it is

Excellent
Clear glass, the ranging seems to work, be warned, there is no .308 caliber listed in the instructions, haven't tested it yet to see if I'm ranging correctly.

Great Price Great Clearity no AO :(
Great Price Great Clearity no AO :(, bought this as my first scope. It now lives in my basement in a box. I was trying to shoot at various ranges including 25 yrd. It will not work because the parallax is set to 100yrd. Great hunting scope but I am using it at anywhere from 50 feet to 125 yrd. So my bad. I found a scope with an AO which was the ticket for me. Quality is great. Optics are the best. Customer service is good. Just figure out what you want to do then pick a scope. I got a Simmon 3-9x32AO for $55.00 and love it. The Redfield scope to me would live on a high powered, hunting rifle.

Great scope for the price
I put this on my Browning X-bolt 7mm mag. It is not a bad scope for 0-200 yards and the awesome price. I would get more zoom and bigger objective for longer range shooting. I love the clarity of the Leupold glass in it. I also have one on my wife's Ruger .243 and it shoots great out to 200 yards. If I get a long shot over 200 out in Wyoming next month, we will see where it hits and I may add more to review. It's doing really good on paper though.

This is a great scope in its price range
This is a great scope in its price range. Comparable and perhaps even better than the Leopold Rifleman which requires a screwdriver to adjust properly. The Redfield has knurled knobs that you turn with your fingers. I got enough stuff in my range bag now I don't want to add a tool chest to it. The reticle has a small circle around the crosshairs which is probably ok for hunting but targets not so much. If your a casual shooter I'd recommend this scope, if more involved then I'd go VX Leo or Nikon. If you want to feed at the top then go Nightforce.
