This new machine is AMAZING!!! (I had an older one 5 years ago, but it broke) I got this one before going on our tropical vacation and used it on the highest setting 4 times, once about every 10+ days. I didn’t shave for a week and took photos of my armpits unshaven. You can see that majority of my armpits are almost hair free! After 2 weeks of vacation, I saw slightly more hair growth, but that’s expected since hair grow in cycles. It takes several months of repeated treatments to laser it all. Hair that already dead, don’t feel painful under machine, they also tweeze more easily.The more you use this machine, the less painful it becomes. At first, when I had to laser off lots of hair per inch, it was quite a sting, especially around bikini area. (Still nothing compared to waxing) I decided to use a smaller laser head on setting #3 and not cover so much “ground” per session, skipping 1/2” gaps. After about a week, most of lasered hair got pushed out of skin and fell off. So at my second session, I increased to #5 and went over the areas again perpendicularly. At a 3rd session, I was able to comfortably use a larger laser head on the highest setting. I did count my 2 sessions as 1 recommend session, since I was doing them more often than recommend, but I didn’t cover every inch either. I went one direction first, then perpendicular direction second time with 1/2” gaps to reduce stings. For me it was less painful and worth it. I understand that I was treating the same hair, without waiting for the hair growth cycle as directed. As per instructions , I still continued to do the treatments to cover all months of the hair growth cycles.BONUS: this machine also lasers off some of the dark pigmentation similar to Photofacial, as I discovered doing it on my arms. My dark freckles became black crusts and fell off after a month or so. (Last photo of my arm, you can see some darkened freckles) Do not scratch to avoid scarring. It’s not nearly as powerful as a true Photofacial laser, but it’s much more powerful than an older version!2nd BONUS: no more ingrown hair !!!!!!!FOR PAIN: laser safe glasses and laser numbing cream is a good investment! Don’t look at the light flashes to avoid a headache. Do it in a bright room. When the fan runs on the highest setting, it’s more painful, so wait to cool it off. Have ice near by and apply to reduce redness and hot skin. Take a shower after and put a cortisone lotion on to reduce possible redness or swelling. (You can buy all of above on Amazon)TIPS: if machine stops working, clean the head really good with the qtip wrapped in a lens cleaning wipes.NEGATIVE: the cord is not sturdy enough, connection to machine already has some issues. Might have to replace it at one point.VALUE: Compared to the old version, I think it’s a much better deal for your $! The laser head lasts 100 times longer and it comes with 2 of them! So it the long run, this machine is less expensive than the old one. The results are incomparable! This machine blows the old one out of the water with much better results! Plus, you can safely use it on your face as well! BUY IT!!!WARNING: If you can’t finish all deep treatments for several months to laser off all of your hair according to the hair growth cycles, your dormant hair will show their ugly heads eventually ;)

I've been using this for a few months. I definitely did not see 90% permanent hair removal, but the hair does grow back thinner and softer, so it hasn't been a total waste.

I have used this IPL unit for about 8 weeks now. Once every two weeks I do a treatment. I have very fair skin and semi-dark hair, so this worked really well for me. It does not hurt unless I get a spot that has a extra thick hair, but even that is like a rubber band sting, not even a bad one! I’m very happy with the results so far. I’ve seen probably a 85-90% reduction in hair growth. I’ve used this under my arms, around my belly button (dang post-partum hormones), and on my bikini/pubic area. I recently started working on my legs. This almost eliminates the need for shaving or waxing. It’s amazing. If you have fair skin and darker hair, go for it! You’ll save what you spent on the unit eventually, and you won’t have to work as hard to keep yourself up.

I'm a guy and wanted to get rid of the chest and little bit of back hair. It has taken about 4 weeks, but any light brown or darker hair no longer grows back. The little bit of grey that I have is unchanged, and that is expected. I can live with that.The unit is the strongest you can buy and made very well. It can get a bit quirky sometimes and refuse to flash, making your restart the unit. But mostly it's a breeze and works better than ANY of the others you will see available without being a Dr. I've tried all of these Chinese knock offs with no luck, this one works!

I've been using this IPL religiously for about six months now with basically no results. I turn it on the highest light pulse setting and follow all the instructions, and hair does not fall out. It doesn't make any sense because I am light skinned and my hair is BLACK. There are small patches around my legs where hair no longer grows, but that's it. It's very far from the advertised 60% reduction.Moreover, the unit has started malfunctioning! I will be doing a treatment and it won't flash anymore. No matter what I do, the only solution is to unplug the entire unit and wait a few minutes and then plug it back in. It's turned brief sessions into full on endeavours because the unit will work for 20 to 80 pulses and then just quit.One hundred percent do not recommend. If I had known it would malfunction and basically not work even a little bit, I would have saved up more and gone to a salon.

This is my third Remington laser hair removal machine, and by far the best and most effective! The last one I had was amazing for over 5 years and this one did the same amount of work after two sessions!! I'm so impressed, I honestly tell all of my friends and anyone I overhear going to get it done professionally, to buy this instead. If I could go back in time and tell my younger self to buy one I would!!

It really works! I was skeptical as I did professional laser hair removal for years but never had permanent results. I gave it a try as with age I’ve developed coarse thick hair on my chin and neck which I was waxing constantly. After 3 treatments two weeks apart, I have had complete resolution! I’m also using it on my underarms. While not completely resolved the hair is drastically reduced already!

I’ve had professional IPL done and this is not as powerful or quick between flashes. That being said, it’s good enough that I was able to do my wife's lower legs in about half an hour. That was first try. I imagine I’ll get quicker. One niggle I have is that it requires complete contact with the skin to function. But shins and knees aren’t made that way. So you do have to do some trial and error to find the right position. As for hair removal, that will be the test. Hair seemed properly zapped. Will it come back and how many treatments will be needed? We’ll see!
