These are awesome heads!
Ordered these heads on a whim, as I was tired of replacing the less durable heads I was using previously. They are very easy to tune, and in fact, like to be tuned low! However, I have tried several tunings, and they seem to have a wide range of tuning capabilities. There are very few overtones, which seems to open up possibilities on the resonant head tuning as well. Plus, the sound man at the last venue I played (big place, approximately 700 person capacity) also loved them! The sound check went very quickly and they sounded great over the house PA system. They sound great without the mics, as well. So far, they seem to be pretty durable, but time will tell. In any case , I will definitely use these again.

good for fusion and rock....not good for bebop or trad jazz. I use them when I set up a fusion kit. For Bebop and traditional jazz I use Remo Diplomat Fyberskin on top and clear diplomat on bottom

Great heads when you really want to "hear the drum"
Actually I'm Jan's drummer/percussionist hubby and I love these heads. I was a devout Remo guy for more than 25 years (with one digression to Aquarian that didnt really work out) and still run clear Pinstripes on my live kit and coated Ambassadors on all my snares. But I now use these EC2(s) on my Yamaha Stage Customs for recording work on my 12, 13, 14, and 16 inch toms and love them. They tuned up nicely after a play-in period, and sound great with the right micing. Nice warm tom sound, fairly quick decay, and no ring or overtone when paired with Remo Diplomat resonant heads. I am guessing these are not good heads for heavy rock and very loud situations where your drums are not miced because they dont have the punch of a single clear head like a Remo. But if youre playing that loud youre probably not looking for the subtlety of the drum itself anyway.

Sounds fine when tuned properly . However coating was worn off at some places , otherwise all perfect.

super Fell mit mords wumms und dennoch klarem Sound. Sehr stabil und gut stimmbar. Verbessert den Sound jeder Tom (wem dieser Sound gefällt)
