Tiny!
They aren't joking - this is a *mini* feeler gauge set. Folded closed, it comes in just over 2" in overall length and 1/4" wide!I bought mine for setting up guitars so it doesn't need to be huge or heavy-duty. I've never used feeler gauges before so I'm afraid I'm of no help in comparing its use to other similar tools.CONSTRUCTION:The outer loop seems durable. The gauges come in ascending size order (from top to bottom it goes from thin to thick) but with the very thickest gauge on the top, ostensibly to protect the thinner top gauges. The set is held together on a threaded bolt, the nut to which can be removed so you could re-order the gauges in any way you wanted. The nut assembly also serves to tighten or loosen the stack of gauge blades. The measurement markings on each gauge seem to be lightly etched on each one to varying degrees of quality. The contrast isn't super sharp but they are legible (I have great eyesight so your mileage may vary). Some of the numbers seem "smudged" or double-printed/etched.PACKAGING:This tool came laminated on a hang-card and has no detectable oil or residue on it at all. I know that high-quality tools often do come coated to prevent rust. I have no opinion on this either way, I just know that on some other gauges that come oiled, unknowing purchasers were miffed at the oiliness of the item. So FYI, these gauges don't seem to be oiled or greased in any way - you'll have to protect them yourself once you open them.PRICE:At $8 new, it seems okay for a precision instrument until you tack shipping on top of it. I'd recommend buying from one of the other sellers for closer to $2 if the shipping is also low (mine was shipped to me in a too-large Fed-Ex box). I had to purchase at this price because I didn't NEED an expensive set of feeler gauges and all the other lower-priced tools couldn't be shipped to Alaska.CONCLUSION:I'd recommend this product for small and/or occasional projects, not for heavy-duty use like constantly rebuilding engines or something. Due to its small size it would be great for travel or to keep in a stringed-instrument case for setup.

Small feeler gauge
I use this feeler gauge to determine the string height on my guitars. I bought it primarily because I didnt want one that was covered in oil that would get on my guitar neck. This one arrived quickly and was fairly well packaged. The only complaint I have about it is that some of the numbers are really faint and hard to read. I keep it in my guitar case because it is small and easily fits without taking too much room. I am satisfied with the purchase.
