Folkmanis Blueper Folkmonster Two-Handed Character Puppet

I teach puppetry at a homeschool partnership program. (Yes, we do have awesome classes like that!) I purchased Blueper personally and really love him. He is a favorite in class too. He is very expressive. Additionally he has human gloved hands, which help younger students be able to do a lot more expressive hand work. There are slits in his arms to be able to stick your hands in easily. We have run Blueper with 2 people before, with one person working the head and another running both hands. My only complaint is that the access in the bottom is not loose enough to work everything through there... and I want Folkmanis to make more human gloved hand puppets like him. Folkmanis is my favorite puppet company, as they make affordable puppets that are high quality. Sometimes their puppets vary as far as comfort and usability, but are far more reliable than other similar companies. BUY Blueper! You won't regret it.

I bought this puppet to interact with my out-of-state niece and nephew during our Skype/Facetime sessions. I can't wait to introduce Blueper to them.I am very happy with my purchase. This is my second Folkmanis puppet, so I knew to expect a quality product. And I wasn't disappointed.-----------------------------------------------------------------However there are a couple of things I need to note:1. One of the puppet's eyes wasn't quite right. I had take a bit of time and effort to adjust the orange fabric around it to make the eyes look fairly symetrical.(This is why I deducted a star in my rating.)2. I decided to trim the puppet's fur to better define its face I trimmed the fur above it's mouth upwards to about where the top of the bridge of its nose would be (if it had a nose). I am very pleased with the results. I think that I have really added to the puppet's character.-----------------------------------------------------------------All in all, I would consider this to be a good purchase, and I would be happy to recommend this puppet to a friend.***** UPDATE *****************************************************Two more cosmetic changes:First, I did some additional trimming to the fur on the puppet's "bottom lip" just to make slightly neater.Second, I added a brown, plastic, triangular nose to Blueper. (His face just seemed to need a nose.)I think he looks great now!My final upgrade to the puppet will be the addition of a mouthplate. Once that is done, Blueper will be all kinds of awesome!

So months ago, I visited my friend down in Australia. One place we went to was some tourist-trap town that had a toy store. Checking it out, we found loads of puppets - and this one was the best one. Unfortunately, the Blueper puppet there was almost 80$, but imagine my joy when I found out these toys were made in California, where I knew I'd find this guy much cheaper.And indeed he was! 30$ is a good deal for this one, it's put together well and is really adorable. I bought it just because I liked it, but I could see this guy being a great toy to help with kids.Now, for the good.This puppet is pretty large. While it says 8 inches for the arms, they're more like 10 inches when you include the claws/fingers. Lengthwise, I measured this puppet at around 18 inches.The colors are nice and bright, and the orange/blue combo is great.It's comfortable to use, albeit with the hands, you almost have to squeeze two fingers into one'claw'. I don't have huge hands, so it's no problem with me, but I could see this being a problem with someone with larger hands/fingers.Now, for the bad.This thing, with it's polyester fiber fur, sheds like crazy when you first get it, and only let's up a bit after you shake it out.I was disappointed to find I couldn't toss this guy into the wash since it has a slight smell, but hanging it outside to air out works pretty well.Also, and this is a BIG thing: The puppet cannot be used with one hand, like the picture suggests. It has those openings right behind the hands for a reason; you'll be using one arm to control the puppets mouth and the other to control only one hand. I made it work by making a makeshift 'sling' for the unused arm.In total, I love this guy and this it's totally worth it.

I own several Folkmanis products, and have always liked their quality.This puppet is well made, and allows one to be extremely expressive. It's extremely easy to put on (a plus when one of the users is a three-year-old).This product was bought on a whim, but I suspect the other Folkmanis puppet with working hands, the Teddy Bear, will be next on the list.

This is a great quality puppet. My son saw this at a local upscale children's store and had to have it. Of course Amazon had it for much less. The puppet arrived quickly and I saved enough to buy another puppet by the same company. The puppet I received was made by the same company as the other one he liked and it is well made with perfect stitching.

My 15 month old daughter loves Blueper. I wish there was a way to attach his free arm somehow so it wouldn't hang limply. Other than that, Blueper is a great puppet. Folkmanis needs to create more of these great creatures.

It appeared a lot smaller in the pictures. Besides being really large, the fur flattened at it just seemed like a huge blue fur ball.

I LOVE Folkmanis puppets and this guy's one of my favorites. He's got a ton of personality and is super expressive, plus he's really large (bigger than the photo) and fluffy. The hands are a big plus because I can make rude gestures at my brother. Only complaint is that you need three hands to work him fully and the unused arm tends to hang limply, which ruins the effect somewhat unless you work it into the character.

Ich habe dieses Monster hier bei Amazon direkt von einem Händler aus den USA bezogen.Das Monster kam nach ca. 1 Monat hier an (stand aber auch so in den Versandinformationen).Ich bin zufrieden mit dem Monster. Es ist schön verarbeitet, sehr flauschig (fusselt allerdings ein bischen, ich denke, das gibt sich aber noch) und detailreich. Es hat zb. sehr hübsche kleine Zähnchen, eine niedliche Zunge etc.Eigentlich bräuchte man drei Hände, um es optimal zu spielen, weil eine Hand ist mit dem Kopf beschäftigt und man schlüpft mit der zweiten Hand in eine der zwei Pfoten hinein.Das Monster ist recht groß.Ich bin zufrieden mit dieser Anschaffung. Für alle Liebhaber von Monstern geeignet.Hinweis für Besteller bei dem amerikanischen Händler: Mein Monster blieb im Zoll hängen und mußte dort abgeholt und nachverzollt werden (waren aber nur ein paar Euro).
