This is a nice register however it would be much better if the money wasn't made of paper or was at least laminated. It would also be nice if the drawer popped open with the touch of a button like a real cash register. I do like that it doesn't make noise though because I am trying to stay away from noise producing toys for my son. He is 3 and loves to play with this but the money is very bent and ruined after a few months of use.

We've had this cash register for a year. It is sturdy and rugged. My 3-year old calls it her computer. It is perfect for a toddler who likes to play "store." Easy for little fingers to operate.

For pretend play. I laminated the dollar bills to make them sturdier. Nothing flashy about this unit, just a nice sturdy pretend cash register. NO bells or whistles, just how I like it. Let the child's imagination do the rest.

I really liked the idea of this cash register, but here is what I found: the drawer will not hold real size American play money and the very first time it was dropped, the face on the solar panel broke so now the calculator will not function :-( I would not recommend it.

This cash register is just the right addition to our grandchildren's IKEA kitchen and their store of plush food. I expect it will provide years of fun.

My granddaughters (age 5 &7) love playing with this and making change.
