The Important Book about Majuro

I work with some elementary school children who have mixed racial heritage including some relatives from the Marshall Islands. This book really hit the target for them! The children in the photos look like them (unlike anyone in their present world), and they carefully went through the book examining all the children's self-portraits and thoughts about what's important. All of the children in our after-school program were impressed with how carefully Mr. Savu's class had worked to create the book.

My son in law grew up Majuro and it was wonderful to be able to give my three granchildren this book to help them understand their Dad's culture.

The Marshallese people are very close to our hearts. The drawings these children made for this book are absolutely beautiful! Very special book.
