Great Product!
I bought this converter with the intent to play my classic video game consoles utilizing an RGB signal native to the SCART format. Needless to say it worked like a charm. While the converter doesn't make the image 720p or 1080p, it does upscale the outputs from the consoles to fit within those resolutions. The SCART format provides a much crisper and colorful image over composite or S-Video, and the HDMI converter makes it possible for this format to work with US televisions. The results on my Sega Saturn were worth the price of the converter alone. If you are into classic gaming on a modern television, this is worth a go. Just remember to switch our TV to 4:3! Nobody wants that stretched image!

not perfect, but considering the price versus a Framemesiter
Works well, not perfect, but considering the price versus a Framemesiter, well worth it. I just ordered a 2nd one for my Genesis. Currently using for my RGB modded SNES mini.I spent a lot of time analyzing this, the first thing I notice with cheap upscalers is the smoothing effect. Basically, move your sprite a bit, and it will be a touch blurry, when the character stops, you'll notice it sharpen up quickly. This happens on everything, it's not the most noticeable thing, but I was previously using an S-Video upscaler, and it was the same effect, but much worse on that. The colors look great, there is a little bit of added lag I noticed when comparing to my S-Video upscaler (kanex pro), so there's that. Lag isn't ridiculously bad, but it's noticeable esp when playing games like Tetris Attack, or Gradius/shmups. It's very manageable, and better than other units that look exactly like this one. This is very similar to a Panlong unit that looks the same. All in all, I'm happy with having two of these until I decide to get an XRGB-mini Framemeister. I was able to beat Contra 3 with it, so I don't think the little lag will hold me back in the meantime. There are no zoom/scaling features, but somehow it's perfectly sized on my Vizio TV, which has very few options.

A word of advice, look elsewhere.
It turned on and did in fact take an RGB signal and produce an image on the TV via HDMI but that's about it. I was extremely disappointed in this item though. The converter I got (which was purchased direct from Amazon themselves) was quite similar to the one in the picture but distinctly different. It lacked any kind of brand or model number. Everything about it was 100% generic and it showed in the quality of the item that I received. Looks like other people had this same problem.I got an image on my screen that was automatically oriented up and to the left, no adjustment possible. There was also a considerable amount of input lag as well as a really ugly line of distortion that would occasionally roll through the image (only visible when moving). I tested this on a SNES and an RGB modded N64 with multiple SCART cables, multiple HDTVs, and all possible settings on the converter. All tests point to the problem being the converter. Completely dissatisfied with the results even though it did somewhat work.My advice? Look elsewhere, the original item listed on this page (the CKITZE BG-460) doesn't appear to be sold anymore and instead they're shipping out stuff that looks the same but lacks any semblance of quality.Bottom line. Framemeister xrgb appears to be the only/cheapest great option for one of these. It does come with a plethora of really nice features and takes input lag out of all retro consoles (and sharpens the image) on new TVs but it's incredibly expensive) I'd rather spend $300 on one of those than spend $60 on something that I can't use.

Works good but nothing like a Framemeister
OK so I purchased this but later returned it.Here are the Positives:Very Cheep Price, Very well made (metal casing, very sturdy), small and it works somewhat.Very nice images, crisp and sharp.Negatives:When the game is in motion the images are blurry (unacceptable in my book and my main reason for returning it)Stuck in 16x9 mode cannot go 4x3 so all your games look stretchedSometimes it doesnt want to turn on when turning a system on (this only happened to me once and rebooting the converter fixed it).I have since purchased the Framemeister and it is much much better and no motion blur...phew. But the extra hundreds for the framemeister may not be worth it if the motion blur doesnt affect you and the 16x9 mode doesnt bother you.Overall the CVIC BG-460 is a good system but not great.

It's a miracle worker!
I recently bought a Sega 32X RGB SCART Cable for my NTSC Sega 32X. That cable sends a pure RGB 480i signal to my NTSC TV. There is just one little problem, we don't use SCART in the USA. So I bought this converter from amazon. It not only lets me hookup my SCART cables, but it also lets me use my Xbox 360 S and 32X with my Turtle Beach X11 Headset and converts the 480i resolution from my 32X to 1080p! It can also convert PAL to NTSC and vice versa. It can also just bypass PAL signals to a PAL TV and NTSC signals to a NTSC TV via HDMI. This converter is a must have for US SCART users and even Europeans as well!UPDATE 1/26/2015!Two years later, this thing is still amazing but an XRGB system will have more features and is better at everything than this. This converter is perfect for consoles with RGB output and have been modified for 50/60Hz compatibility. I recently installed a 50/60Hz switch in my Sega Genesis Model 1 Revision VA6 and made a discovery that may be useful to those who installed said switch. When using an NTSC Sega Genesis set to 50Hz to play PAL games, the system will output NTSC 50Hz instead of PAL 50Hz and it doesn't work properly on NTSC 60Hz TVs here in the USA when using standard composite (yellow RCA jack) video cables. It will result in a distorted black and white image and the picture won't be centered on the screen. RGB SCART cables do not have this problem and will display the image correctly and in color. Those should be used instead for better quality video and for color in an NTSC system modified for 50Hz. If you still want to get color in composite signals, then you will need to add extra circuitry. I believe the same applies to PAL Mega Drive units in 60Hz mode, but I could be wrong so let me know if this is the case for PAL systems.

Buen producto

Works for Me
I mainly purchased this for my Sega Saturn to hook up to my more modern T.V. It works great for what it does i use RGB Scart cable for my Sega Saturn and the picture looks great for a machine that was introduced in 1995 : P. It only has 3 buttons to press so its pretty straight forward you have one to change resolutions, one to switch back and forth from Scart or hdmi input and the last one is to change regions like Pal(50hz) to NTSC(60hz).

Your console needs this
Brilliant!! Allows older computers and consoles that have RGB capabilities to be used using HDMI. Beautiful crisp clear picture, colours are not wahed out, picture is stable. If you really want to get the most of your old Amiga/console then this is for you. This is ideal for N. American users who do not have SCART input to their TVs. Well worth the money

so far so good, the Device works perfectly with my Amiga and my SNES, no lag input that I can see and the image quality is pretty damn good when going from my Amiga to my FHD screen considering that it has to work hard to fill the screen.will test it more later and change my rating if changes happens

Made my Sega Genesis/Sega CD games look great!
I purchased this product to use with my Sega Genesis/Sega CD using a SCART cable I bought. The picture quality overall is pretty good, displaying almost razor sharp pixels, which is a huge jump from using just basic analog cables on an HDTV. There is one problem however, input lag.So when I first got this thing, I was so focused on the picture quality I didn't really think to test if this device caused any input lag. Recently, I played Aladdin for Genesis on my computer through emulation (I own a physical cartridge of this game as well) and noticed that it was very responsive, so I went back to my Genesis that was hooked up with this device, popped in Aladdin and realized that there actually is a noticeable level input lag. Now that I've noticed it, it annoys me so much that for the time being, until I come up with a better and lag-free way to play the Genesis on my HDTV, I don't think I'll be using my genesis through this box. Now I've just gone back to hooking my Genesis up to an old CRT and playing it the way it was meant to be played. To summarize, picture quality good, input lag bad.**Screenshot of street fighter 2 taken with an iPhone on a tripod on the same tv. I first took a photo of the game on RCA (left) unhooked it and plugged in SCART (right), then took the next photo.EDIT:
