Finnish army Genuine M65 Field Cap. Finland Military Issue Surplus Wool hat

It is a nicely made hat that suits my purposes. The buttons are plastic, which I thought was odd. For reference, I am normally a size 7 (or 56 in metric), and the small fits me perfectly. If your hat size is larger, the small will not fit you.

I liked how nicely it is made. It fits a little bit large. But not too bad. Very nice. My 2 orders in this package was not handed directly to a resident . I noticed it was on the front porch. It was in good condition. Besides that everything was good with delivery

I love this hat but sizes are messed up. I first ordered a medium that came as a European size 58 which was way to big so I returned it and got a size small that was a 57 a little better. I wish Rhys would let you choose your size by number rather than the small medium or large crapshoot game where it’s a guess I’d you get the right size or not.

I got this as a hat for bushcraft and it work beautiful, it's very comfortable and is mostly crushable which makes it great for throwing in a pack as a camp hat.

I wear a US size 7 1/4. Tried a large first. Way too big. Tried a medium next. Still too big. Tried a small. Too tight/small. So, now I gotta return the third one and am SOL. Apparently the Finnish military does not accept anyone with a size 7 1/4 (58cm) head.Sure looks cool though.

A very high quality hat as advertised, though that's not any surprise considering Finland's determination to supply her soldiers with the highest quality equipment they can provide. It is tightly woven being warm but not heavy or bulky. I suspect this is their summer cap. It is a close copy of the German M1943 style cap in design. I would call this a 3 season cap being suitable for all but the coldest conditions or extreme heat. By example, I don't think it will be comfortable for our very warm (ok, hot) mid-summer Texas temperatures. For the record, the ear flaps can be unbuttoned and do fold down.I have a couple German M1943 style (post- WWII issue) caps, and a Chinese made copy and like them both but this hat exceeds them all in quality. The fact that I found this one to be less expensive than many of the Chinese M43 caps being offered here make purchasing this purchase a no-brainer if you are interested in this style of cap.For the record, I got this for my son who wanted one like mine. We are not collectors or re-enactors but find this style cap very durable (even the Chinese made copies) and functional. Having a small farm we spend a considerable amount of time outdoors and need good clothing that will stand up to conditions. This hat stands the test. My son loves his.
