Every car should have this battery charger in the trunk for safety purposes. Women especially will appreciate how easy it is to use and not having to call anyone if your car will not start because your battery fails. It’s small enough to fit in a midsized purse or tote bag too. Just attach the ends of charger to proper probes on battery, press button on charger, then start car- best sound ever! I left car lights on by mistake last summer at a tennis match. As others were about to drive their cars over to help me in parking lot, I took charger out of trunk, hooked it up, then tapped the gas petal a couple of times, then started the car. The men and women were asking to see what started the car, where I purchased it and how much it was. I filled them in as they all replied they would visit Amazon to get one or more for themselves and family members.

Mine came with a partial charge and charged reasonably quickly when hooked up to a good charger (see below on that subject). I haven't yet had to use it to jumpstart a car, but the instructions for doing so seem straightforward and the specifications up to the challenge. I've used it as an auxiliary device battery and a flashlight and in both roles it performs satisfactorily. The display seems like more than is necessary to display its current capacity, but maybe it has more useful information when it's jumping a car. The instructions are a bit peculiar: the manual discusses a "BOOST" button which my box seems to lack; there's a light, but as far as I can tell it's not something I can press to change a setting.One significant complaint: the charger that ships with it is pretty terrible. It's boxy and unglamorous, which is fine, but it also produces a significant transformer whine, which is not. I swapped in another charger and it worked fine, but be aware that "out of the box" this kit is suboptimal.

I bought this thing almost a year ago and so far have only needed it as a power bank. It's been sitting in my car for months without being charged or used though and this morning my battery was dead. It still had 57% charge. A few minutes plugged in to get the 60% recommended for jumping and then it had my car going on the first try. It may not have needed charged at all to do it, but definitely worth the money to keep around.

I was very sceptical of the product when I received it. It is very compact, about 6x4x2 inches. I made the purchase to assist in starting my MB 5 cylinder diesel powered RV. After sitting idle for some time, the battery power was down and it barely turned the engine over twice before quitting. I attached the tiny booster to give it a try. It was like a lightning bolt! The engine came to life immediately! I was impressed!xMake sure you attach with secure connections.

I bought this for my San Francisco Trip, just in case. While on the road, I let my kids used it to charged their phone and tablet for the entire 6.5 hours drive, and it still had a lot of juice left when we arrived to San Francisco. This unit have a flash light that is really bright when I used it to find stuff in the car. For a compact item, I find it very sturdy.

When jumping a low battery car it is not quick at all. I had to put it on the car wait about 10 min to turn it over. The battery was low carg not dead. It turned the lights on and unlocked the door but not enough to start the car. So if you buy this and you have a bad battery it is not gonna instantly start. Even if it has a low charge. The manual says to use the boost if the battery is at 8.1v or higher. It is not as good as I thought it would be that is why it is a two star. Btw there is no usb cable to charge the thing so if you don't have a micro USB cable. You will not be able to change it.
