Maybelline New York Expert Wear Eyeshadow Duos, 40d Lasting Lilac Perfect Pastels, 0.08 Ounce

I wear the quad #30 purple pretty much every day. I sometimes switch off on the first of the four in the quad, to apply a pink shade, especially when I'm wearing a pink blouse or sweater. But since my main color is purple, the first of the quad colors (lightest purple) for whatever reason, always runs out first. it's not like I'm applying that one color any more than the others, but I needed to find a "substitute" to go along with the other quad pack colors. I searched high and low for the exact color in a single, but it was no where to be found, even when looking at CG, Revlon, or Loreal. I was starting to get nervous as to how I was going to substitute this color, so meanwhile I switched the first of the four colors over the eye to pink. That worked really well, and it was a nice change. The shade of pink I chose, went great with the rest of the palatte. I finally came across 90S in Maybelline that was a very good substitute! Then, upon looking further, I saw what ends up being seemingly the exact color, along with a darker companion, in the 40D combo palatte from Maybelline. It is a bit more money than I would like to spend for a duo, but it's well worth it.

I have to be careful when choosing eyeshadow, because I am very pale and blonde, so colors really show up on me (which can easily make me look like a clown). This one is perfect for me. Although the darker shade is supposed to go in the crease of the eyelid, I like to blend the two colors on my lid for more color, but keep heavy on the light color so that it's not overpowering. The color stays pretty well too, even without a primer. I often have to touch it up every 4 hours or so, but that's not a problem for me. Good product for the money!

Color great! Applicator fell apart.

I just love this product! Have been wearing it for several yrs now and still receive compliments now and then! Thanks for providing such a wonderful color. Was tired of all the blues, browns, etc. It is just a great, long lasting product!

Was pleased with the colors but wish that Maybeline still sold the color called Lux Lilac. That color goes well with my green eyes but do l I Ike these colors. Thank you, LADYD

The product was as expected. The color is exactly what I was hoping for. However, the applicator's sponge tip was ripped through on both sides, so it is not usable.

this eyeshadow is great because it has two shades in one case. the formula is good and has a little glitter in it which i love in eyeshadows. i wore both shades together and they look great together and compliment each other very well. i have been looking for the perfect purple eyeshadow and this one is just right, not too dark but not too light either. would recommend this eyeshadow for those who like pretty purples.
