The second edition of Principles of Manual Therapy has been updated. Reviews suggest that it has been a valuable guide for the novice clinician to have a good basic overview of the principles underlying manual therapy. Some of the methodology has been modified and updated and continues to be in a clinically applicable format. The emphasis from a musculoskeletal dysfunction perspective has been enhanced to add the neural component of somatic dysfunction. The goal of an inexpensive book available to individual clinicians will continue to be accomplished. The specialty of neural mobilization has been revisited, evaluated and refined. Complementary to joint mobilization principles, terms like neurokinematics and interface mobilization have been stressed upon. A good understanding of the anatomical basis continues to be the mainstay.
