These saved me
I changed my spark plugs and threw the old ones away along with the old thread insert. Tried several inserts from my local parts store with no joy. Bought these and put my spark plug right in. So happy right now. I got my buggy back. Thanks!

Unuseable due to quality
Planned to put the inserts to use on my VW 1600 dual ports heads. Fortunately decided to drill and tap a piece of aluminum stock to see how well the insert threads fit. Short answer, they did not or even begin to engage into the properly drilled hole tapped with M16x1.5 threads. Very fortunate to have done a test hole before drilling out my heads. Ended up at the parts store and bought OEMTOOLS part#2567 that is a much better product and design that works. My review is based on over 60 years of automotive and machine shop experience, much of it specific to VW's.
