Tiki Island Pool Express Variflo XL Valve 1 1/2" SP714T O'ring Gasket Rebuild Kit

This seems like a good gasket kit. It does not seem to be a match for my Hayward vari-flo xl SP0714T. The gasket fits but my gasket seems to be molded top and bottom so the OEM gasket actually separates when you take it out. My symptoms were my filter stopped filtering. I replaced my sand, checked all my laterals etc and it still wouldn’t filter. I bought the new spider gasket to see if that would fix it but after replacing with this new gasket, my filter is leaking out of the backwash hose on most settings. Not knocking the company at all, I just made the wrong purchase. It appears I have to buy a whole “key” assembly. The key doesn’t appear to be much more than the gasket set.

The gasket fit perfectly. It was very difficult and tedious to remove all of the old gasket that had sort of hardened and fused into the housing, but once I got it dug out, the new gasket works perfectly! I am sure the pool store would have told me I needed to replace the entire valve assembly for $100-$200, but I knew if I could replace the gasket that was all that is needed. The online video convinced me I could do it and it works perfectly, better than it has in several years!
