The phone will be charged after you press the power button. The battery case will be charged next after the phone is fully charged. The charging time for the phone is 2 hours. The charging time for the battery case is 8 hours. It will take 10 hours for both of them to be fully charged in one cycle.

No, you can turn the case on and off. So if your battery is full just leave the case switched off. To be honest I wouldnt waste your money. The case doesn't hold charge like it says it does.
