Interieror is actually only 11inches because of the odd way the back plate slides in rather than nailing on the back like most bookcases. I know .5 inches isn't much but when purchasing such a small bookcase everything counts and I feel slightly ripped off. Not many options for this size and price range so it's still probably the best option around.

The bookcase is functional but not at all nice or great. Assembly is easy and the instructions are adequate. Where the product is less than satisfactory is in it's engineering and design. Following all instructions to the letter and what results is a functional but rather cheap looking unit with surfaces bulging in places where assembly screws were inserted. The manufacturer drills the pilot holes so we have no choice but to use the holes provided and on my unit they were off center creating surface bulges in a couple of places on the finished unit. These do show and you can feel them too. Additionally the unit was pretty dirty when received. I had to both vacuum all parts and clean then with Windex too. It's also a good idea to have a black Sharpie handy because some of the visible surfaces had obvious flaws in the paint that had white shining though the black. For the money it's OK but I'm not very pleased with it and should have purchased a more substantial, better engineered product from a maker who went to more trouble to ensure that I was not opening a box of tons of particles that got all over the area that I assembled it in. FYI I'm a retired engineer so I did not over tighten anything, it's simply a poorly designed and engineered offering and not for the discriminating sort in my view.

I put it together myself same day no problems and so far it's very sturdy I've picked it up and moved it a couple of times now and it's still fine

Perfect bookcase. I didn’t realize the back was brown but most people put that against a wall and don’t notice, I painted the back black because it wasn’t going against the wall. Otherwise it’sGreat.

This bookcase is exactly what I needed. I was looking for a small bookcase for my desk that would fit my binders and some computer books. Most small bookcases were too flimsy or couldn’t accommodate large books or binders. The adjustable shelf is great. I was concerned that it would be hard to put together based on other reviews. However, I didn’t have any trouble assembling it. You only need a Philip’s head screwdriver and someone else to hold the pieces steady while you screw them together.

For the price I'm very pleased with this product. I went to IKEA to look for something similar. They were out of everything I wanted so I came home and checked on Amazon. This item was as good or better than the one I had seen at IKEA. Delivered right to my door.

Package came slightly beaten up but, the contents were fine inside the box after i opened it. It only took me roughly 30 minutes to put this together with a philips head screwdriver and made sure it was sturdy before putting my books in to start my personal library next to my desk in the bedroom.

This is the second one I purchased. I am very pleased with how easy it is to assemble. It works perfectly for the books I wanted to use this bookshelf.
