Q: Does this strap cause any black stains on your shirt in hot weather when worn bandolier style?

I just finished the Metropolis ASA Shoot. The temp ran about 95 with 45% humidity and we were caught in a downpour. I had this strap on the whole time and I don't see any stains in the 2 shirts I wore.

Q: just how long is this strap

The padded strap part is 40 inches, then the ends can each adjust from 1 inch to 12 inches or so. So at it's longest, it would be 64 inches long, with 41 or 42 inches being the shortest it could go. I'm 5'10" and use it to carry a Pelican case-when I carry it across my body it hits me at the hip.

Q: how does this attach to binoculars?

It attaches to your binoculars just like the original strap that came with your binocular does. It goes through the opening on each side of the binoculars and turns back on itself and passes through a small buckle.

Q: How wide is the padded portion of the strap?

It is at least an inch. Very comfortable and well made. I like mine a lot.
