Excellent starting point for getting into basketry!
The book starts with the essentials surrounding willow crafts, which tools you need, various sources of willow and how to prepare the willow for use. The projects themselves are presented from easy to a bit more advanced. All of the projects are gorgeously decorative; my personal favourite being the dragonfly. All the photo tutorials are very clear. Compared to a number of other basketry books, the author doesn't omit small steps under the assumption that it's self explanatory. This makes sure you can get your project right the first time and don't have to experiment for yourself to discover what the book really was talking about.Even if you're already deep into willow crafts, the crafts here are very inspiring and can give you plenty of ideas for gifts and projects for kids. This small book comes highly recommended in every way! Happy weaving!

... little book with projects that turn out just as beautiful as the pictures
This is a lovely little book with projects that turn out just as beautiful as the pictures. I have just recently come across this book but have already introduced some children in a primary school to the flower project and have made some of the other items for them to adorn their school garden. There is also a 'sister' book which I would like to see, with 10 more projects on birdfeeders, but it appears not to be on the list that I can download to kindle. Well done Jonathan Ridgeon on inventing some lovely, very doable willow projects.

Not what I expected
The one project that caught my attention to buy this book is not in the book! All illustrations are in black and white and on low-grade paper.

Great read
I was given this as a Xmas present, I love it, can't wait to get twisting. Up date, I tried the flowers, ripped my forearm tendon because you need string fingers t pull the willow tight, then it dries out and comes undone. The willow snaps too easily and breaks, disappointed.

Good book, looking forward to start crafting!
Can't wait to start with my willow crafting! Book looks well illustrated and text appears to be straight forward and easy to follow though haven't made anything as yet. The reason I give 4 stars is because it is black and white throughout and I'd like to have seen it in colour!

Disappointing
Really disappointed, the images are bad quality and black and white, they look like a bad photo copy
