But cuts paper or other materials just fine. Hoping to replace blade and use it
I bought it to cut tulle, the blade is not sharp enough, despite it being fiskars. But cuts paper or other materials just fine. Hoping to replace blade and use it.

Excellent I luv it

Blade review - VERY poor quality. Rusted in less than 6 months. Amazon stop stocking this item!
The cutter is quite good. I would have expected the blades to be sharper, so that it could cut through at least 4 layers of thin cloth without having to use to so much pressure. However, I'm glad I bought it.

Super speedy
Was a bit sceptical about this at first; why switch from using scissors like sewers have used for hundreds of years? Then realised I sounded like my gran and bought one in a flurry of rebellion. It's amazing. Used with pattern weights and a cutting board it now takes me half the time to cut my fabric as before. If gran is rolling in her grave it's because she's jealous and wants one too.

TIME SAVER!!!
My first thought using this for the first time was 'why on earth have I been using scissors all this time?'This is my first rotary cutter so I can't compare it to others, but it is perfect for my needs. I'm a seamstress and do a lot of pattern cutting. I have been pinning my pattern pieces and using scissors but with this I can just spread the fabric out on a large cutting mat, and trace around the edges. I have just saved myself serious time and effort! You squeeze the cutter to release the blade, which may be harder for people with sore hands but still easier than scissors I would imagine. The blade is very sharp at the moment, I'll be interested to see how soon it blunts but after a months wear it's still absolutely fine. I haven't had issue with curves so far but small details do still need to be cut with scissors for acuracy.I chose Fiskars because I have always been very happy with their scissors, so I trust the brand.

Sharper than I expected
When my wife asked for one of these I wasn't really sure this gadget was going to be any good - but I was really surprised! It cuts fabric extremely quickly and accurately, far better than scissors. The first project it was used on was a patchwork quilt, this meant a huge number of very accurate squares were used - just place the template ontop and away you went, cutting square after square. We also found you could cut 4-5 layers of fabric at once to speed things up and it went through with no issues. I would highly recommend using this on a cutting mat or something similar otherwise you may well blunt the blade quickly, however we have been using it on a cutting mat for quite a while and it is still razor sharp.

A great addition to the decorating tool box
Fantastic Tool. I bought it for trimming wallpaper as the ones you get for a couple of quid from DIY stores are useless and flimsy and are not very sharp. You couldn't cut your bum with them. This not only has a proper lock, its strong, stays sharp and you can buy replacement blades. I hung 7 sheets of paper on a feature wall and only required the one blade. It trimmed perfectly around the coving and skirting.I only wish I had discovered it sooner before I had papered the other rooms. A great addition to the tool box. Thanks every one for the feed back when I asked about it.

Don't waste your money!
I bought all the kit to start qulting including this Rotary cutter.I chose Fiskars, having had their scissors in the past when dress and curtain making. What a total disappointment!I am using a proper cutting mat and have thin cotton fabric fat quarters. I am onto my third fat quarter, cutting 4" squares. This does NOT cut cleaning through 'several layers', as it says on the packet. It struggles to cut through one.I had imagined it would be sharper and last for longer before the blade needed replacing, but it has not managed to get through an hour of cutting.I shall probably return it, and stick to cutting with scissors in future

Nothing short of excellent
Superbly manufactured cutting tool that delivers first rate precision cuts every time. The handle also incorporates a well designed safety mechanism that retracts the blade until you grip the handle. The name Fiskars says it all, Quality, design and performance you would expect from the very best, this device is second to none, and gives excellent service over and over. The choice of professionals, the service of exception.

Life changing
I am a left handed fashion student. Cutting fabric has never been my forte until I tried one of these bad boys whilst on work placement. It changed my life I had to buy one. Absolute game changer, it will revolutionise your fabric cutting if you have only used scissors up to now .

Excellent and useful tool for dressmaking - makes things really simple when used with a cutting mat - You pull the trigger to engage the blade and there's a lock that means you don't have to squeeze the trigger all the time. Be careful as it's very sharp!

Good Cutter But Not Perfect
I have several Fiskars items so did not hesitate to purchase this make of rotary cutter for my new hobby of patchwork. It is sharp and cuts through layers easily. However, I do not find it as easy to handle as my friend's Olfa make one. It is not easy to describe but the Fiskars feels difficult to hold exactly upright to enable tight cutting. It sometimes goes slanted and therefore cuts nicks into the adjacent material which can be disastrous if you only have small amounts of fabric to create a pattern. I don't find that at all with the Olfa so I am a bit disappointed.

Much better than a standard cutter.
the handle is nice to hold. Nice and chunky so you can grip it well. I previously had one of those bog standard yellow ones which was not as easy to grip. This also has an easy system to push the blade into position for cutting and withdraw it and lock it securely when not in use. All this is done in seconds (again, my standard one you had to push the blade forward and then tighten the screw to hold the blade in place for cutting - it was a pain). Although it is also easy to change the blades, I have made about a dozen patchwork quilts of various sizes, all cut with this and it is still going strong. I also use it for cutting straight lines when pattern cutting and cutting fabric lengths off a roll.I would definitely buy one again, though I think that might not be for some time yet!

How cutting is this?
I love this wee gadget. Never used one before and its like a new toy. I've used up half my scraps playing with it! The only drawback is a human one in that you can easily forget to hold the trigger in when cutting but practice makes perfect I guess. Its so easy to use and pretty accurate too but I would suggest going slow on fine fabrics as it can easily run away with you and fine fabrics do tend to slip a bit. All in all I'm happy.

A great rotary cutter
A lovely rotary cutter. We'll weighted, a good grip system to allow the blade to cut with a good safety system to prevent accidental unshielding of the blade.Only gripe is the locking mechanism of the blade seems a bit flimsy and needs tightening more than it should, but not sure that on its own is worth deducting a star. Otherwise, a great cutter.

Brilliant I'm impressed
Brilliant sharp accurate and easy to use like the button to lock in position. This is my 1st rotary cutter and I find it so much more accurate than scissors which I have always had a love hate relationship with I'm one of those people who cutsbsidesbon circles, I have just cut out a perfect heart shape today. Very pleased

Highly Recommended
Perfect for cutting fabric - this is the first time I have ever used one and it makes cutting fabric so much easier and nicer than using scissors.

It's nice to use
I like the cutter but the screw keeps coming off that holds the blade in place, if I tighten it up the blade will not rotate & as it starts working it self off it makes it difficult to control, I was also disappointed that I only cut the lining out for my dress then had to change the blade. The new blades I have purchased seam to be lasting a lot better.
